Why do Republicans allow Trump to turn the party into hate and fear?

It’s an effective tactic to encourage voter participation and for said voters to vote red. The goal is to appeal to our ugliest emotions and prey on our fears. The politicians mostly know it’s wrong, but they don’t care, because it works, and Republican policy is unpopular these days, especially social policy goals, they can’t win on that.

Trump is a NIGHTMARE for the Republican Party because true Republicans don’t stand for his brand of bullshit, yet the voters (who we need to remember are largely idiots, so politics is mostly corrupt people trying to get mostly dumb/ignorant people to vote for them and keep them employed in a cushy job) DO respond to Trump’s brand of bullshit, which is really more of an indictment on the American population than Trump himself.

And “average Americans” hold more power than they should relative to their intelligence, so pitches based around selfishness or bigotry will get support and possibly win, even if they aren’t good things that we should be supporting. The alternative is abandoning democracy, so we’re kind of handcuffed into giving a populace of like 70% idiots a strong say in outcomes. I’m still deciding which option is worse, lmao.

I’ve been saying a lot recently, two of the easiest pitches to the under-informed are “it’s not your fault, it’s because of someone else” and “I can save you and make your life better.” That’s pretty much Trump’s stated message, as obvious to us without Kool-Aid-stained orange tongues that it’s all a load of bullshit that isn’t true and won’t be delivered on, as helping others isn’t one of his true goals. Pray for those who believe otherwise.

Anyway, I can’t imagine that both normal bow-tie nerd Republicans wagging their finger about government spending or Evangelical Republicans can be rid of Trump a second too soon. But their own jobs depend on it, because whether the decision is being made by wise voters or just a bunch of political noobs akin to Happy Gilmore’s followers on the golf course who just showed up to the scene and don’t understand decorum, that’s who’s voting, and if Trump decides you’re done, all he has to do is direct his followers to go against you, and you’re likely out of a job.

This makes no sense, and it’s very bad for the nation, but here we are.

The liberals one is annoying as a liberal because they keep seeding the language to leftists calling themselves liberals. While real liberals are probably republicans but surrendered the term to the leftists and now just call themselves conservatives, while in reality they are trying to conserve liberty.

Non-Christians I never see come up. Minorities I also never see come up, they only hate it when you discriminate based on race which the left loves to do. Immigrants however does come up because Biden refuses to resolve the border crisis and seems to be trying to import as many voters as possible in an attempt to rig the election. So thats a genuine grievance.

No republican has an issue with immigrants. They have an issue with illegal immigrants. Because they are illegal. No republican cares about religion until it begins to be problematic to them or there loved ones. No republican cares about liberals until they begin to be problematic to them or there loved ones. Republicans have no issue with minorities they never have. Republicans have no issue with the media provided it is reporting the truth which is a difficult thing under the best of circumstances. Lot of journalists have biases and they allow it to influence their writing. As for the deep state not much information to go on beyond it is a conspiracy theory so doubtful Republicans put much stock in that.

They began the process in 1964, when GOP Presidential nominee Arizona Sen. Barry M. Goldwater appealed to white supremacists in the Deep South by opposing the 1964 Civil Rights Act which guaranteed black Americans the rights they'd been denied since being dragooned onto slave ships from Africa staring in 1619. Since then the REPLIGLIKSCAM have ratched up the rhetoric calling whites racism victims in favour of POC, resulting in the GOP ("Goobers, Oddballs, Popinjays") getting a majority of the white vote in every Presidential election since Nixon in 1968, as they will in 2024. Trump is the logical extension of the REPILKSCAMs' racial appeals, but his were from a bullhorn rather than a dog whistle, as the more "respectable" GOPers prefer.

Conservatives use their fight flight freeze limbic part of their brain more than pre frontal cortex where logic occurs. They also have a more visceral and measurable reaction to disorder and gore triggering a disgust response.
