I have seen a lot of stuff on the internet where it's apparently life-ruiningly bad if you are alone for Valentine's Day. Is this some weird American subculture or is it actually widely considered a big deal? Lots of countries don't even celebrate or if they do, it's a Saints Day not this 'love holiday' so I'm confused how big it really is and why it matters so much to some people.
I've been asking myself the same question and I guess it's just part of the US culture. I live in a country where Valentine's Day is celebrated by some people but it's not a big deal. Also it's not a problem if you're single on this day. It's just like any other day.
