How do you introduce yourself to people?

Not a lot of people know me well.


I’m very multifaceted and I have a lot of layers.


I only open up to people that I trust. And, the more that I trust them, the deeper the layers of myself I’ll share with them.


I have a lot of sides to me too.


In school I was welcomed in many cliques but those cliques would clash with each other. I could hang out with the preps and the goths, the jocks and the nerds, the prom king and the socially awkward kid that sits in the back of the class.


Usually there’s a part of me that can resonate with someone, and so when I talk to people, I bring out the part of my that resonates best.

Gym bros may see me as a fellow gym bro. Philosophical debaters may see me as a fellow intellectual. Jokesters will see me as a fellow jokester. Business professionals will see me as a fellow business professional.

And often times, if they do not know me well, they will be caught off guard. The same person who has 8 years of violin experience, also has 8 years of martial arts experience. The same person who is the quiet and reserved introvert at the book club, has actually been a sales trainer that hyped up, encouraged, and lead sales teams like a full blown extrovert, etc.

Between my layers and my sides, it takes time to know me. There are even people who have “known” me for years that have not seen all sides of me.


So not a lot of people know me well. And, I only open up to those whom I trust. And, it’s not easy to earn my trust.


I’m closed and reserved.


But, people don’t suspect that when I come off as open and gregarious.
