I believe that Canada has one of the worst Healthcare system in the world?

Question

I believe the free healthcare doesn’t work out because many people wait for hours or even days before seeing a doctor in the emergency room. Doctors wrongfully discharge patients to free up the beds instead of doing a proper scan. It takes months to get surgery and seeing a doctor for minor care takes days so people have to run to the emergency room and wait for hours to get antibiotics pills. Do you agree with my statement?

In Health Canada’s eyes, it’s clear
No risk to humans or environment
When Atrazine is found in the water
Despite exceeding EU’s limits.

A pesticide that’s used worldwide
In our water, it’s not alright
But Health Canada’s not taking measures
And they’re not willing to fight.

The people don’t understand why
They’ve been denied their right
And it’s up to us to protect our health
And make sure we’re not left in fright.

We must take matters in our own hands
And keep our environment safe
And though it’s a challenge that’s hard to face
We must not be afraid.

The frogs are in peril, but the government won't act
Though in other nations this chemical has been axed
Atrazine is a danger, a feminizing force
But in Canada it's still allowed, despite its horrific course

Our government's inaction is a woeful disgrace
If frogs can feel the effects, what will be human's case?
From the forests and lakes, this chemical's force runs deep
The frogs are not the only ones it's bound to reap

The creatures of our wilds feel its insidious sting
It's a hazard for all, but our government won't hear a thing
They close their eyes and ignore the damage to our land
So the frogs and their kin must withstand

This chemical's attack and its mounting toll
Every day, its effects are growing, but our government won't take control
The danger of Atrazine, we must address
Before the frogs and their kin are put to rest

It's not free, it's  government-funded . You still pay for it, just in taxes instead of directly. That said, remember that the world consists of more than the US, Canada, and western Europe; do you really think medical care in Canada is worse than in, say, Burundi?

Do you believe a system where one illness can leave you with a lifetime of crippling debt would be better?
I know it’s not good right now and politicians are dropping the ball, but calling it the worst in the world means you have no idea what healthcare around the world is like.

I'm in Canada. I got into see a specialist in a short time & had a surgery date scheduled with in a few days. Had heart surgery & am back home recuperating. All this happened in less then a month. Just under 3 weeks to be exact.

Yes and no. It all depends where you live at and what province in Canada. To be honest, Canada 🇨🇦 is better than any other country I been to to have good clean medical system; it's not the greatest when you have to wait, but its worth the wait than to not wait and then wait for another month or so. I personally prefer nurse practioners verses doctors as nurse practioner don't rush you, they take their time to listen to your medical concern and you get in faster than a month if I was seeing a doctor. Sometimes it helps to go to different emergency hospital to see who would be faster and doesn't rish you out... thats what I know and do so that I know what hospital doctors care more about their patients than their money and time. My own personal opinion. Cheers

I think it is better than most countries. I had to have surgery on my back and was in and out within a couple of weeks. It wasn't a priority surgery, so I figured that was pretty good considering there were people with real emergencies before me.

I wager a surgery like that in another country would probably run me in the 30K to 40 K range, it sure was nice to walk out the hospital once it was done and not have to pay that much out of savings.

It might not be perfect but it sounds much better than the healthcare system from where I live. There are countries where there's no public healthcare system.

It's probably got quite a lot of flaws. But least you don't have to file for bankruptcy if you get into a car accident or get cancer.

Canada's system used to be pretty decent but has deteriorated greatly. My sister has severe multiple sclerosis which has required lifelong care and I have witnessed this firsthand. Probably still better than Haiti or North Korea.
