What do you think of about Russia Ukraine war?

I think that the dissolution of the USSR happened so quickly (literally, like, overnight) that a lot of unresolved issues boiled over after decades of simmering. Russia-Ukraine isn't the only conflict in the former USSR. Azerbaijan and Armenia just finished a war of their own. Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan have had various conflicts over transportation and water resources. Kazakhstan recently had an attempted coup in which Russia intervened, etc.

Also, people forget that the current Ukrainian regime was installed after an illegal coup. It may have been a popular, pro-democracy, Western-oriented coup, but it was a coup nonetheless. That being said, most people don't think that warranted a full invasion. I think both sides are wrong, honestly. And I think the west is indebting Ukraine for decades, if not over a century. We're not giving away all of these tanks and artillery for free.

Finally, this war is a case study in propaganda and the voicelessness of citizens on matters of foreign policy. I can only speak from a western point of view, but any discussion about the nuances of the war was met with fury and dismissiveness initially. People assumed you were a Russian enthusiast or hated Ukraine or something. in my opinion, putting yourself in someone else's shoes and understanding why they're mad is the fastest way to come to a resolution. Dismissing their opinions, punishing, and demonizing them only ensures that the conflict lasts indefinitely.

Ultimately its just Russia's imperial conquest for more territory combined with a ethnic cleansing of said territories.
