Unlike many conservatives (and I am one myself), I at least show empathy for those who express disgust at stuff like "ching chong" jokes and blackface

I see stuff like this in YouTube and Instagram and etc comments. And bitchy ass girls will say swipe left if you can't take a joke

Because a horrifying number of people weren't. Lynchings weren't like a regular murder; many of them had an almost picnic atmosphere. You can find pictures, if your faith in humanity is growing too high.

You don't do that kind of thing, ESPECIALLY with that kind of attitude, if you're sensitive about it.

The fact of the matter is that "back then" the vast majority of people were not sensitive about those things. Chances are you would've been making those jokes along with everyone else.
