I’m really upset by this pointless war in Ukraine?

1. Just don’t join NATO (that has been Russia’s policy for decades, to keep a non-NATO buffer between them and the West) NATO had been pushing closer, and closer, to Russia for decades. This was all intentional.

2. Leave Eastern Ukraine alone. Let them be independent, or join Russia as many of the people who live there are Russian and want to be IN Russia. Ukraine didn’t even exist until the 90s. It was ALL part of Russia. 🤦‍♂️

3. Crimea is decidedly, emphatically, Russian. It has been Russian for hundreds and hundreds of years—since Peter the Great conquered that area and finally achieved his dream of a Russian navy on the Black Sea. This is why Sevastopol was built. It’s Russian.

Instead we’ve seen a pig-headed insistence on joining NATO—despite Russia’s protests. They had a coup nearly a decade ago to get rid of their “Russian friendly” prime minister and install someone who is more “NATO friendly.”

My favorite part of this is how American taxpayers are funding a war on the other side of the world for people who do absolutely nothing for us. Ukraine is a spectacularly corrupt nation (amazingly this fact gets ignored by the same pro-war newspapers who ran articles about that very corruption) and money is being laundered, misappropriated, and they are finding black market arms for sell as far away as Africa.

And Zelensky wants F-16s. Long-range missiles. Even submarines! Why American sons and daughters will even have to fight against the Russians!

Fuck you Zelensky. Fuck you, and fuck Ukraine. And fuck all of you who think we should keep handing them money and ammo rather than having peace talks. You’re war-pigs.

Beyond that, it's NOT pointless. Russia wants to expand their geopolitical influence, and create a greater buffer zone between themselves and NATO. It is absolutely imperative if they want to be a world power that they own/ control the oil and the delivery corridor to Western Europe. Ukraine wants to preserve their autonomy. BOTH sides have a distinct point in why they're fighting the war, they're not simply killing each other for NO reason.

If you want to actually do something go fight.

I sometimes watch video to see all the pale dead Ukrainians lying in their trenches... or piles of bodies. I watch as they stare wide-eyed with fear when a Russian soldier sneaks up on three of them hiding in a foxhole, imploring them to surrender before he riddles their bodies with bullets. Last night I was a Russian sniper shoot three Ukrainians in the head. They even showed their military IDs beside their lifeless bodies. I especially enjoy watching the Lancet drones that Russia uses blowing the ever loving shit out of the Ukrainians. I watched another video where a kamikaze drone destroyed a Ukrainian tank. Just a little drone—completely destroying the tank. Two of the Ukrainians inside managed to jump out of the ten and run before it hit, but uh, the rest of the crew wasn’t so lucky. 🤷‍♂️

If you think the Ukrainians can win this you’re living in a dream world. Russia has enough arms for 2 years of fighting. And they are putting in triple shifts at the factory to build more missiles.

How are those Ukrainian factories doing?

I think I saw a NY Times article where they do yoga in the dark, with flashlights for illumination. Because that’ll show those Russians! 😂 🤦‍♂️

Also, how is the Ukrainian factories doing? Probably pretty good. There is a pretty much endless supply of funding for it at the expense of other industries. I know for a fact that Ukraine has steadily increased its amount of equipment since the start of the war and now operate more tanks and IFVs that ever before. This is also not to mention the amount of equipment just handed to them.

And secondly, if Russia runs out of arms in 2 years then Ukraine just have to fight for two years. Sounds pretty simple to me. Personally I happen to know for a fact that Russia has more or less ran out of the readily available IFVs and has to resort to salvaging equipment not fit for military service.

In other words, the equipment Russia will have in the future will become worse and worse in quality the longer the war progresses because they have to try salvage those which are in ever worse condition and older. This is in contrast to Ukraine which is upgrading its equipment to new NATO donations and production.

If nothing else, and there is plenty of other things to talk to, the war will just continue to push the advantage towards Ukraine.
