Anyone else sick of US news continuous popularizing of the war in Ukraine?

... I mean... There are plenty of countries around the world that have legitimate reasons for getting over the war in Ukraine. USA is not one of these. What happens in Ukraine is critically important to USA as a whole as well as your life within it. It is literally the most pressing issue you have, bar none. It concerns each and every one of you and is part of questioning if USA is even the first world power that it is anymore.

You can have opinions on the issue but if you think its not important for Americans then you are in desperate need to learn of your own national priorities.

Plus, when America or some other country invade a more poor country and steal their resources, no one cares so I am sick of hearing about Ukraine

Let me put it a different way. The war in Ukraine decides what your gas price is. It decides how much you pay in taxes. It decides what you can buy and sell. It decides what laws are active in your country. It decides who is your friends and enemies. It decides if USA has to go to war with Russia, China or North Korea. It decides this and so much more.

Ukraine is going to be THE defining moment above even Covid19 that shape how our world function from now on and USA has to get involved regardless if you like it or not. You can't escape it or its consequences just because you are "tired of it".

@Soteris I understand all of that and I know this is important and the US should care but half the country are disadvantaged and many of that half doesn’t care about this country because this country doesn’t offer security and pride.

I mean how can they care when sexism is huge, when homophobia is huge, when racism is huge, etc and this country country continues to deny it and continue to make anti human rights laws that negatively affect those groups of people

It’s just a lot to consider. I feel bad for Ukrainians but I’m American with American problems. I have friends who are gay and black and they deserve equal rights today not centuries from now when we’re all dead

No, you dont understand. If Ukraine turns for the worst possible outcome, you are dead. As in nukes will rain over USA dead. This is not a hypothetical, there are several credible outcomes that will result in nuclear retaliation. Maybe that is a direct enough threat to you that you begin to realize that the situation in Ukraine is directly linked to your own life and comfort.

Today pretty much every issue in USA, be it racism or sexism can be directly linked to what is going on in Ukraine. A good example, look at what just happened to the GOP, they had to DRASTICALLY change their whole political foundation like a day or so ago because they were almost destroyed as a political party from the fallout of the war in Ukraine.

Putting aside the fact that it has such sweeping effect over one half of your whole political landscape, what do you think this major shift in the GOP is going to do to politics in USA from here on out?

America has the most to lose out of any country not counting Russia or Ukraine from this war. One way or another, everything that makes up your country is at stake here.

not sick of it, but it's the news and it is important as this will screw up the world for long time not to mention we have to make big decisions, so you should be informed. Realize, "the news" finds the worst emotional thing possible and put it in front of you. By god... a chinese airliner crashing barely made the news, that's how awful our world is.

What you want, you need to create because it doesn't exist in a consistent way. It's about selling views/clicks and people respond to strong emotions... shame, fear, terror, mayhem, chaos, lying, cheating, death, destruction. There's always something way worse than homeless starving.

Love, peace, joy, happiness, contentment, self control, responsibility... that is not promoted and does not generate clicks.

If you want to do something, get active and make a difference and do that every day. Make video channel of real life issues, champion a cause, learn to help homeless/hopeless get their lives back, etc..
