I am Armenian. Some people say we are not white but we are light-skinned. So what defines the white race?

There is no consensus that Armenia is a European or Asian country that is why it is debatable whether Armenians are white or not

People determine your race most of the time by your skin color but that doesn’t make sense to me. I know a lot of people from India that have really dark skin and they aren’t black.

Marish you are right you are light skinned but not white. And you are beautiful too. In fact a lot of central Asians and Eastern and southern Europeans are not pure white but rather fair skinned. Only the Nordic white people are pure white.

Phenotype is what defines race or rather ethnicity.

Ex. People from Finland the nationality of these people represents their race because people from that country are all white.

Armenian phenotypes are typically Caucasian/mixed with Arab.

Armenians are not white.
Whiteness is in the DNA.
Outward signs of the DNA are skin colour, hair and eye colour, facial structure (especially the nose), skeletal and muscle structure.
If you have your DNA mapped, you will see the truth.
As for visuals, it is self evident that a black haired, black eyed, brown skinned Armenian and a green or blue eyed blond, who has a finely boned facial structure and white or golden skin are different races.

I have seen black haired, black eyed dark skinned Armenians and blonde, blue eyed very light skinned Armenians. They were not mixed. It's a little confusing. They look like different races.

What defines the ''white race'' (my own interpretation) is a certain amount of arrogance, a cultural and genetical lineage that originates from mostly Northwestern European ancestors (ignoring here the silly idea of DNS-''testing'') and an immature view on mankind overall. I don't know.. just people trying to categorize everything. Yes there are distinct differences in colors but for instance black can be French, Spanish, South American… doesn’t always mean that they are in the us and Africa. So don’t read too much into all of that.

Black people with white skin are not white people. genetics, bone structure physical appearance defines race. Armeninans come from indo-europeans but I think they are seen as too impure as being in the middle east so they are not considered white by whites in the west.

I don't know what's considered white anymore, but by the skintone I wouldn't be surprised if you were considered white or if people confused you as white
