There's plenty of indication of the American ignorance, in fact it's something of a joke in Europe and other countries.
The links above for a little old but a little bit of research will find many others saying that Americans are very much ignorant people.
Americans are taught that little else outside of America really matters. American news media doesn't ever really report about things happening around the world unless it has to do with us directly in it, like the Ukraine situation, Americans killed somewhere or taken hostage, or it's a major disaster like the earthquake in Turkey, some explosion in another country, etc. Other than that, you have to get your expanded knowledge on what's going on around the world from networks like the BBC, WION, NHK, and Reuters.
Also our American school system is one of the worst in the world. Most Americans can't find other countries on maps, let alone find their own state on a US map. Many people don't even know who their own state governor is or their own state capital.
I can say for me as an American that I am very grateful for the opportunity growing up to have drowned myself in encyclopedias and travel books all the time, having such an endless curiosity for other nations and cultures on this planet. It's also how I became a world history buff. Even to this day other Americans tend to be surprised that I know a lot about other countries that they don't. It's sad that our society is taught to only see America as the greatest thing out there only worth knowing just because we "have so much wealth" and "freedom."
I know I was taught a lot about the American Constitution when I was in high school. And again top when I was in the military. Today people could care less they just want to get outside there high School classes. A lot of us are tired of the crooked politicians. Used to be that you were able to State what you wanted to do and how to approach it as a politician. You have so many of these special interest groups that cry people give in to them because they make the most noise. I agree most of us Americans are ignorant of our constitution. I am now becoming ignorant at times. I get so upset at the stupidity that happens with our society.
I think it's more that they just don't care to know more than they learn in school.
A person has to want to be more intelligent before they can be. They have to go out and seek things that makes them more intelligent.
Take classes, go to seminars if they still have them.
Oh, and if you are judging how stupid Americans are, you must be referring to the democrats. American's can't believe how stupid they are. They have crazy ideas that don't make sense. We can't believe the things they do either 🤷🏼♀️

Why is Europe so obsessed with this country? I never realized the obsession until I joined GAG. You people literally breath, eat and sleep America. Do you know how often a European country or even Europe as a whole crosses my mind?
If anything you should be making fun of Canada for those suicide pods or Mexico for managing to have a higher obesity rate than the United States while also being controlled by cartels.
We actually have free speech here and you Europeans cannot begin to comprehend how valuable that is.
The world didn't feel that way when it needed money or bail outs or weapons or BOTH world wars...
