Why are Americans so culturally ignorant? Most Americans don't even know where London is. Yet London is at least 10 times more beautiful than American cities.

It's because our government won't even pay our teachers a good salary to make our kids smarter they don't want smarter kids because they think they're going to be in the office forever so they don't want anybody growing up to be smarter than them and probably they don't even know where London is

First off, we aren’t. Not all of us of course. I have been to all 7 continents and will gladly compare my travels to you and any one you know. I have been to London a quite a few times as I had people there working for me. I always caught a show there as it was so easy to get tickets vs Broadway in NYC.

London is a nice city but to say it is 10 more beautiful than American cities is also quite and ignorant statement. You yourself have not been to much of the US I would guess. It is a huge country that you just can’t comprehend from little old UK. I would like to see you get tested on US geography. Find Chicago for instance. The US is huge as I said and the diversity in culture here in different regions and the type of weather, views, people, topology can keep one busy for a lifetime of travel. But you are supposedly 16 so I don’t know how much you could know about global travel as I think back when I was 16 I visited North America, Europe and the Middle East but that was just a toe dip into the pool of global travel so don’t overestimate you knowledge base or repeat what blow hards say who also haven’t travelled the world much. There will always be a class of people who travel a lot and then the masses who do not.

America is a country where 100 years is a long time, and England is a country where 100 miles is a long way.

It's just prospective. Would it be fair to say England France and then Spain are basically the same place. How is usa any different. We even divide our borders 60 different ways. Territories and DC.

Alabama and Mississippi to England to whelsh. Then there's Florida to Alaska is as different as scottland to some holiday islands.

All of which you don't need a passport. You can go the equivalent from London to Rome only stoping at gas stations in a beat up car. We could reach farther in our country then we are able to travel.

The London thing is very specific lol. But generally I'd say their education system isn't all that great, they're a huge and rather self-centered country. I think - from observation - that there is a cultural/mass psychological phenomenon with them wherein, if something doesn't concern them in some way, it isn't worth knowing and that if they do know something, the purpose isn't necessarily to know for the sake of it but to then show off to someone that they know the thing.
If there were a personality archetype for the US, in my opinion, it would be self-centered, arrogant, prideful.

Because we suck. I'm ashamed of my country. People talk about Germany and the Holocaust , yet no one condemns the American government for their attempted genocide of the native Americans. Not to mention all the slaves we had. We are hypocrites. We are brought up to think that America is so wonderful and a beacon of good to the world. We are horrible. At least in Germany they seriously do not put up with Nazi stuff. In America it's legal as long as you don't hurt anyone. We just elected a rapist racist con man as our president twice. I would love to live in England. I know you have your problems but it's seems like beautiful country and so much culture and history. My last name is Cornish. Id love to visit Cornwall. I love your accents especially the women. I watched a lot of British shows growing up. London is a beautiful city. I live in the Kansas City area it's ugly dirty and boring.

We aren't. Most of us know where London is but you have to think about how huge america is like there are so many places to visit and travel to. For most Americans it's useless to have a passport or even to care much about other countries/their cities. Each of our states are basically like their own country

They seemed to struggle to identify Africa let alone know where Egypt was. 11 times 11 was a challenge. Maybe it was a setup and they got paid to answer wrongly. Hope so.

If you're so culturally in tune with things, where did the Union general who oversaw the surrender of the Confederates grow up? How was the decisive battle of Gettysburg won? Who was the critical ally of the American revolution? Where did America get the Statue of Liberty? How many times has our capital been assaulted? Etc.

And by the way I have actually been to London. It pales in comparison to some port cities I have seen.

Most Americans know where London is. You could fit three Englands in California alone. There are plenty of beautiful towns in America, you just don't know what the hell you're talking about because you haven't been to any of them. We don't have all the old architecture and stone buildings like Europe because our country isn't that old. USA 85% of Americans don't read another book after high school, they're mostly monolingual, only about 40% of them have passports - in red states much higher, a critical mass of people do not go on to higher learning, they are in survival mode with a HORRIFIC work / life balance and so much more. They're insular, anxious, egotistical, arrogant and parochial. They don't even know it because they're too busy bellowing USA! USA! WERE #1!!

I've been to London. I love it, but I don't know if I would call it beautiful. I live in Seattle, where we have snow-capped mountains visible to the east and west, Puget Sound, and on clear days Mt. Rainier is spectacular.
