I think there are bigger Trump fish to fry than this particular case. I don’t think there’s going to be some big scene with Trump being led around in cuffs or anything like that. I feel like a case like this would be handled with the utmost sensitivity. Whether you like Trump or not, a Trump “perp walk” is an embarrassment for America on the world stage that I think would be avoided at all costs. I’m sure they would announce a warrant was out for him, and shortly afterwards, you’d see some tinted vehicle pull into some garage at a police station, he’ll turn himself in, post bail, at most have to surrender his passport if they deem him a flight risk, and release him on his own recognizance. I’m not anticipating any kind of big scene.
@exitseven I don’t think Trump spends a single day in prison. He’s an elite, he’s part of the protected class that doesn’t suffer real consequences like you or I would. Some of the other elites are starting to turn on him, though, but ultimately, I don’t think they want any precedents being set where the ultra-wealthy (likely all guilty of criminal offenses if we dug around) start facing true consequences. At worst, I could see house arrest at Mar-a-Lago, which a lot of people would consider a vacation. And if he did somehow end up in prison, he’d be in protective custody, no way he’s rubbing elbows with gen pop. Anyway, if any of that did happen, this is the least severe of the offenses he’d potentially be indicted for. This is a minor bump in the road, I’m guessing.
