Why are small towns so big into sports?

Everyday almost I come home from work and drive past the soft ball field and all the soccer moms are cheering their kids on. Do they just drive over straight from work or are these all the house wives that stay home all day?

It may not be only women out there, but that's all I notice for the most part.

Because sports are good for children. You think any mom or father has nothing better to do than drive their kids to soccer and waste two hours of their day as well as soccer training. Same with virtually any sport. Its better for kids to be playing sports than sitting at home playing x box and becoming obese.

I don’t know I see people in the city really into it too. I think it’s a mix of stay at home mom and moms that work. Kids have a lot of energy and they gotta burn it off somehow.

Hell when I was a kid I left the house at 9am road my bike all over the neighborhood with my friends and came home at 6 for dinner. My mom loved it lmao

I would run around the house for hours. I’m honestly impressed with my childhood stamina. I wish I still had it lol
