If guns are the issue, answer me this. How do you solve/stop murder?

Guns are an extremely capable catalyst when it comes to murder. Nothing will ever stop murders but they can be made harder to accomplish by doing anything at all to try to keep those with a high likelihood of attempting murder from obtaining one.

This is a mostly bipartisan sentiment, of course. Something like 70% of the population approves of mandatory background checks, I think? The singular reason we don't have that is because of the NRA. You see, every time there is a mass shoting, gun and ammo sales skyrocket. If we do anything at all to slow down mass shootings, then we're literally yanking cash from their kids' mattresses' mouth.

I think there were two mass shootings yesterday and I think one of them would have happened even if there were universal background checks, because it seemed targeted and planned. People who are capable of following a plan and aren't just trying to feel powerful are far more likely to be able to pass a background check. Indeed, I wouldn't be too surprised if we learned it wasn't technically a mass shooting at all but rather six seperately planned murders that just happened to all occur at the same time. The other mass shooting probably would have been prevented, though.

The killer in the Uvalde elementary school shooting had over an hour to kill, and he ONLY killed 21 people. He could have done the same with a baseball bat or a machete.

You can't. Even if every gun was destroyed and nothing like them could ever be made again, or hell if you removed all murder weapons, people will still get murdered.
