Is taking guns away the best idea to stop the killings that are committed with guns?

My opinion is that taking guns away is a bad idea and won't change anything. Murderers will still find ways to kill people without the use of guns. He or she or they could use poison gas or poisonous injections to kill people, using something like crossbows or a bow and arrows, hell, even our everyday things we use to complete tasks like a pencil, pen, chef knife, a towel to choke someone, etc. Some things we find around us can be used as a murder weapon. What's y'alls opinion?

You don't need to be that exotic; look at the Boston Marathon bombers. Bullets don't discriminate in who they hit, but bomb fragments discriminate even LESS. You need to treat the disease, not the symptoms.

And if you want to know how well gun grabbing would work, look at the anti-knife laws in the UK. Hell, look at the pro- well, anti-"anti-abortion" laws in the US; the argument against them is "if you make abortions illegal, women will just get them illegally". Funny how they never think the same is true of guns.

Lets try something novel. Make it a crime for anyone with a prescription to Adderall, Ritalin and anti-depressives or any other psychiatric drug to purchase or possess a firearm.

Yes, murders will still happen without guns but they won’t be carried out as efficiently and you won’t have these mass killings in our schools. It’s harder to inflict mass casualties with a bow or a knife or poison. That being said, the only way gun control will ever truly have an impact is if the government rounds up all privately owned weapons along with a total ban because the blacked market is directly fed by the legal market, stolen firearms, straw purchases, etc.

Guns are combination of extremely deadly and also very easy to use. That’s why we should target them.

We should find a way to make guns harder to get for people who are unhinged and mentally unwell. In a radical fashion, not just criminal backgrounds. Basically if you’re an incel and you’re always online posting about everyone you hate, you should be disallowed to own a gun, or even have family that owns one because you are a danger to society.
