In the UK we've got an image in our heads what different people in various states look like. Californians all look like surfers, Texans all look like their off to a rodeo.
NO !!! That's like I had this dream of fucking a real Red Indian girl in a Tepee. I did manage to go to an Oklahoma reservation and had my fantasy, but there were no teepees ( Red Indian tents) , only slums in the reservation, was like a third world country. Anyway, to give you an idea, it's like in Scotland you will have to look hard to find a guy with a kilt. But there are places like in the mining towns deep in the Appalachian mountains where you might find a few hillbillies. I mean those guy will not even know the Brits have left. ( few may not even know the Brits ever came...)
But seriously, Pops, you should take a trip to the south of the US of A. Specially, since you like food. The foods are out of this world, like nowhere. Have to heard of Cajun food. Like Jambalaya and Gumbo,,, and Po boys. It's a different world. ( when the Brits took Canada, the Frenchees as usual , fled,,, down the Mississippi to their Louisiana Colony and mixed with the indians and Cajun country was born) It's also where Jazz was born, in New Orleans, the french quarter. But there's more there is even Tex-mex food, and Texan food and Mexican food. It's a foodies paradise. Also it's probably the only place where "white people", eat real , I mean real spicy food that I have seen. So spicy I could not handle it. In fact the whole antebellum south ( deep south ) , is very beautiful, and they have Soul food. It's the home of the Blues (from where all contemporary western music comes from , be it Jazz, Rock, Soul, Punk etc. etc...)
But Pops, from a person who knows both places, let me tell you the main difference. Like, in London, if you go from Wembley to Brixton , it's like a different ethos, or if you go to say Brighton from London. Each place is different, with it's own character and history. That's not so in the States, There is a basic blueprint, each place will have its Mcdonells, It's Main street, It's downtown, etc. etc... it's the same everywhere, even the street names are the same. No character at all, everything is commercial and there is just the same stuff everywhere, gets very monotonous.
But hey, I have another fuck fantasy, guess? I want to fuck a Gypsy girl in a Caravan, like a Romani girl. They have a few in the states too, but I guess too few to come across. They really even have few Traveling communities in Uk ( like Tyson Fury) ,,,, anyway gotta run,,,,, FUCK CAN I RAMBLE.
They are British, Irish and a little German ancestry. Why do you think bluegrass music and dance from that area is so much like Irish jigs and reels?
A lot of them are descended from British convicts who were sent to Virginia (before it was split into Virginia and West Virginia). That was before the colonies quit allowing it and England started sending convicts to Australia instead.
Much of Virginia and W Virginia are very poor. So people are not exactly wearing the latest fashions.
I've traveled the US extensively, and lived in a lot of places. There are differences between the people in both looks and lifestyle. But it's not anywhere near as clear cut as the stereotypes. It's more subtle than that. If you spend time around hundreds of people, it seems like there is a difference but it can be hard to put your finger on it.

I think in some ways they do. For example, I believe that the average joe in a city is more likely to be liberal than the average joe in the country. Different environments preclude different motivation for affiliating with a certain group of thought. However, the USA is one of the most diverse countries in the world, and I am proud of that. People from all over the world and all walks of life call this country home, and I believe that judging or excluding others based on minority status like race, gender, sexuality, creed, and religion has and will dwindle over time, and classism will be the main or only testament to inequality and bias in this system. To answer the question at hand, it’s hard to say. Not every individual fits in a single mold and there are certainly, going back to my example, conservatives in the city and liberals in the rural south. I think confirmation bias is partially to blame for these stereotypes, when environment does not promote a tendency toward a generalization. Of course there will be more surfer dudes in California- it borders the Pacific and the weather is almost always ideal for the surfing lifestyle, as compared to the oceanless majority of the country. West Virginia is notorious for higher rates of suicide, depression, addiction, and not very good public education- could the state government’s failings be to blame, or the foundation of the rough coal mining industry committed to the Appalachian region, or the culture of the region as a whole?
I think the important thing to think about is what the stereotypes come from and how true they are to the mode. The image you have is of a family whose members are all the results of incest. I would argue that incest as a whole is relatively rare in America, though I could be mistaken. It’s not fair to base the population of West Virginia based on what is most likely an anomaly of the average citizen/household in that state.

Cousin marriage is criminalized in over 20 states in the USA, but it is legal in the UK. That is like saying that all Germans have dry humor or all britishers like drinking tea. Well, some people from Germany may have dry humor, and some Brits might like drinking tea, but not all do.
I’m not from USA, but stereotypes aren’t necessarily true.
Good response. I made a poll on here a while ago asking people how many cups of tea they drank daily. The results were pretty mixed, and some Americans drank more tea than British people on my poll.

Va. (for some odd reason, his parents, who were Brooklyners-Brett's late older brother pitcher Ken Brett was born in Brooklyn , briefly settled in Gooberland), reportedly had to leave Wheeling as a boy because his family violated the unwritten no more than 20 teeth per West Virginia family code.
No. Propaganda is used against southern states for political gain, and if you haven't been to the south, TV/Movies make WV sound like a horrific place.
The people of WV and south are nicer, have family values, and are not the bumbling hicks you see on TV.
If they would depict the worst NY'ers, you would think NYC (and the Burroughs) were a literal hellscape lol

You realise cousin marriage is banned in the US but allowed in the uk? I mean the British head of state is the product of incest. The uk has one of the highest infant congenital genetic defect and mortality rates related to incest outside of Pakistan
