Yes because the reality is that you barely have control of your life and that's everything you choose to do, a drunk driver can swing by and run you over taking your life, if you were in control you'd be able to avoid that, this is an example and the world is filled with many uncontrollable events and situations, you are only in control of yourself and putting that as a percentage well, it's a very small percentage compared to everything else with all the endless possibilities and all the people that make different decisions, because the dark truth is that you aren't even in control of your own life because at any moment an organ can fail and you are gone.

Some science suggests you have 0% control. Given enough data about you, maybe I can predict what you'll do next, buy next, who you'll date next (or least the type of guy you'll date if we're short on data), etc.

I like the illusion of 90% though if it gives you a sense of responsibility over your actions.

Some people, at least the ones I know, aren't really THAT in control of their life. If you're a person that is determined to follow a certain plan, then you just might be in control of your life. It's hard to tell whether someone is in control, but you can see a person that is in control.

Of course you are at least that much in control, barring some unforeseen medical problem,
and don't let someone tell you otherwise. You make your won decision and choices in life, and if good choices you control what happens to you.

@Malwi93 When you make good life choices, don't do drugs, or alcohol in excess and eat well, exercise etc, you have as much control of your life as is possible. Take it from someone who has done that and I feel I am in control of what happens to me. Weird things can happen, but by and large you control what happens to you.

Yes you are. We can only control our actions and reactions. With that said though, positive, consistent actions/reactions usually brings about positive outcomes over time.
