Why is the election system rigged against Dem's and independ?

THe system is made so that independents aren't supposed to win. The electoral college was set up, to HELP republicans.

Why is this. Trump was right when he said it's rigged, but he was wrong when he said it's rigged against him. It's rigged against dem.'s and independents

You are joking, right? There is no conceivable way you are serious! Democrats literally control most of the media. You can't even argue that. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, Disney, Viacom, Comcast, and almost every major newspaper in the country like the New York Times and USA Today are democrat-controlled. Social media is controlled by democrats. Yeah, you recently lost total control of Twitter, but you still have a voice there. Facebook is a major part of the democrat media misinformation machine. Next we have Apple and Google. Google, for example, had their algorithms set up to block and censor conservative messages. They actually rigged it where the RNC fundraising emails in the last election all went to everyone's spam folder while DNC fundraising emails all went through fine. Facebook by itself could change a close election. Imagine all of these working together to help democrats. Also, your democrat party has control of most of the large cities, even in many "red" states. In those cities, democrats make sure that most poll workers are democrats, so guess what? Democrats are counting the votes and in many cases do so without anyone watching. The electoral college is not perfect, but it was designed to give people in rural areas a chance.

@goaded. Fox News is one network. Besides that, there are couple of smaller networks, Newsmax and OAN. That is about it for conservative viewpoints on tv.. As for Fox, during the daytime, they are not so one-sided. They have left leaning newscasters like Geraldo. and they allow some leftist viewpoints. The nighgtime lineup of Tucker, Hannity, and Ingraham all conservative. But don't worry! The democrats have a plan to get rid of Fox! Rupert Murdock is like 94. He isn't going to live forever! His son, Lachlan is also conservative, but that will not matter! Rupert also has James and Elizabeth. Both have been radicalized and are "woke"° So... the plan is for them to get together and take control of Fox when daddy dies. They will turn Fox into a copy of CNN, then the viewers will leave, and the network will shut down. That will bring the democrat control of the media to about 98%. Congratulations, you are winning!

The electoral college helps the minority party, which happens to be the republicans. They’ve only won the popular vote once in the last 35 years. It was a compromise during the constitutional convention to give the smaller colonies more voting power so they would agree to ratify the constitution. In those days, people identified with their colony. They were Virginians first and Americans second. They believed the larger colonies would dominate the election with their own home grown candidates and other states would get the short shaft. Giving them greater say in the election helped assuage those fears. It was never about political parties but that’s how it ended up. They didn’t really foresee a 2 party system or how the parties would game the system. The presidency should be decided by the popular vote. It would force the parties to build platforms that appeal to the greatest number of voters.

The premise in this question is wrong. The Electoral College was created to prevent large states from controlling the Presidential election, and give smaller states at least a partial say in determining who wins. Granted, large states are most often Democratic and smaller states are often Republican, but that's just a coincidence.
