I saw some of the other comments checking back. If you get attached to the Marines as a corpsmen, just bear in mind that you'll be doing 2 main things. 1- injury, give ice pack and motrin. 2- std, give a test if you feel like it, but a z-pack because we're nasty with the male to female ratio there. I remember a formation we got assembled for to ask who got with one woman, and 40 something guys caught chlamydia from her in a 2 week time frame.

Anything more complicated than that would go to the naval hospital, or did for me at least. If you go in the field, I have no clue as I was only a supply clerk and combat media.

I live in the Divided states of America and the thought of serving (murdering other people, stealing their resources) for this country makes me cringe. There’s so much wrong here and I have nothing to be proud of that this country does.


We have one side fighting for the people then the other side pushing back against anything related to basic rights and decency. We have psychos who are legally allowed to buy guns, even military weapons and gear and that same side loves that sick shit. Psychos use those weapons to commit treason and the people who pretend to care about its citizens and love America loves that these people are committing mass murder at shopping malls, and schools and anywhere they please.




Women’s rights going backwards and that’s treated as normal. We have women who are birthing still borns, dying because we are denied basic human rights, teenagers and children who can’t even legally adopt a child having children, women having the child of their rapist, women who aren’t ready to be mothers who resent their babies after being forced to stay pregnant, etc. All all of this is creating more poverty, dehumanizing women, and giving men even more male privilege than they already have.


Also, child marriage is legal in numerous US states. Predict the side that’s attempting to enforce policies against child marriage while the typical side is pushing back on that.


I am sick of this sick country and I will never have kids here. The US can burn for all I care

Sorry I've never been in the Navy so I wouldn't know! but I know in the UK the background check is for 1) criminal convictions and 2) any health issues that might exclude you!

No they’re called Hospital Corpmen and they do way more than an RN in the civilian world. They actually stitch you up and give the shots to numb you. I've had to have sutures a couple of times and it’s the enlisted that do that. Then the Dr inspects it. The Corpmen also prescribe meds. If you’re not feeding well they do the intake and if it’s like a cold or allergies they’re the ones that’ll prescribe stuff. Good luck
