Before attempting to create a third party, I want to know the following: Is possible to have a viable second party in the USA?

About 10 years ago I was in the same mindset. Overall I am a conservative libertarian. Here are a few examples of I used to look at things:
- You want to legalize pot? Sure but let me keep my guns.
- Adult homosexuals want to get married? Alright fine but don’t use that to attack religious institutions who have scriptural beliefs that forbid that.
But at this junction in history the idea of having a common ground between the two political parties is a fool’s daydream.
My theory is that Democratic Party is using cultural hot button issues to slowly usher in communism. The cultural issues about the trans movement, BLM, etc is all a giant smokescreen for Marxism. Is not about equality but about power.
The problem with the Republican Party is that conservatives don’t know how get hard nosed unless they go all Trump. Most of us just want peace and calm but democrats will push where there is mush (they’ve done this for decades).
Too many of us wistfully believe we can be nice with the so called “party of equality” of democrats and they will be nice back. Ah no. They don’t want peace: they want power. You can’t play nice with a bully masquerading in a rainbow flag.
But on the flip side the tough republicans just don’t know how and when to shut up (Trump, MTG, etc). However I do like the DeSantis approach. He’s tough, used logic and sticks to his guns. But he thinks before he speaks. We need more republicans like him.
As long as most states do not have electoral fusion, 3rd parties will never become on par with the other two. The other two know this which is why, in state legislatures, most states ban electoral fusion.
Frankly, that's unconstitutional - sort of - but it's never been challenged in Federal Court that I know of. Ideally, a Constitutional amendment would have to be passed to permit it. But, that won't happen because Constitutional amendments need to be passed by state legislatures...
not really because they'll never get the votes... at best a 3rd party can do is divert votes from another party at best... we're definitely in a place of dark government... i don't and never will support defunding of the police... not protecting our borders... government shutting down businesses and methods for the sake of global warming... global warming is a scam... which has been happening since the time of jesus christ...20 ad was the 1st fear of the end of the world... and in 1976 the world was going to end... there were a lot of them so don't think we're unique in that respect.
We only have one party. The D’s and R’s public rhetoric is mostly for show. In private , they’re both working to restrict rights, albeit in different ways, and spending us into insolvency. It’s a private club and they create culture wars and divisive issues to make you feel like your vote makes a difference. It doesn’t.
