In general for the rape, but for the other stuff, Americans, because I've talked to my foreign friends and they said soldiers don't act like snobs and demand special treatment and no one worships them like gods. Especially in countries with compulsory service. I read a story about an American soldier who threw a hissy fit because some place in Australia wouldn't honor his American veteran's pass. I am not making this up.

There was also the Navy gut who cyber stalked me and threatened me with death and left me paranoid and with panic attacks for 2 years, because I told his psycho niece to stop messaging me.

But my main issue is, people always criticize hate, but never want to explore the reason it exists in the first place. I already had a guy ask me WHY I hate soldiers. I'm hoping if enough people start saying these things, it will get them to work on themselves and change their attitude. I want to at the very least provoke a discussion.

As a 24 year old who has obviously never served, I seriously doubt you'll get any traction and won't be accomplishing anything other than venting. If that makes you feel better then go ahead, that's your prerogative. I'm in a job and have been in the position where nobody likes you until they need you. And many think that public service is somehow unworthy, but those of us who are or have been are fully aware of them, and couldn't care less what others think. Someone getting their knickers in a wad over discounts is pretty odd; do you hate students too? They get discounts. Senior citizens, member rewards programs? There's a lot of hatred directed at public services like police, fire, and EMS and those who serve know it all too well. Funny thing is when the haters call, they don't turn their backs on them, including the military who serve in the community.

The military's job is to fight and win wars; political objectives drive military deployment - write your legislators, and there are quite a few in the military who wouldn't disagree with you. Frankly, after 20 years of foreign wars, Americans are getting tired of it - including those who serve or have served. Trying hating the game, not the players, but that's up to you. If you want to embrace hate like you've never seen hate before, join the WBC. They've got hate down to a science. They hate anything LGBT, they hate the military, they hate the Brits, they hate the Swedes, they hate Catholics, and they hate about anyone that isn't them. A name like KostasKouvalis might be ethnic Greek, so don't feel left out, they hate you too, and so does probably every ethnic Turk - for no valid reason.
Yes, communities give free stuff or discounts to police and firefighters, and quite often supports them on a scale you apparently can't imagine. But you can certainly channel the energy in your community to do more, that would be a positive move.
