It probably depends. Like really putting myself in those shoes, I want to say that I would get the kid, take them someplace safe and get them what they needed. But if I saw the kid was straight up brainwashed and hated us and was hurting other people as a result.

I guess that's why they say war isn't pretty. I would not want to have to make that decision ever. It's making my skin crawl just thinking about it.

Yeah I read that about stalingrad. Nazis paid starving kids to find food... whose families were ordered by Stalin to stay in the city during the battle. And Russian snipers shot them. Bad war.

Yes. But in stalingead the nazis were starving and being slaughtered by snipers. So i'd prob ask a starving russian kid to find us food. And as a russian commander i could see shooting those who help the enemy.

But i couldnt do it. Nor say its just either. Just that i can see where each side is coming from.

Russians are specific kind of people that differs from other Slavic tribes which have very ethnocentric nations, Russian didn't have that since they were invaded and raided permanently by Asian horse bowman in XI - XIII century.
Every occupied nation eliminated collaborators who supported enemies but children don't have perception of what really happens and should be spared.

I read that and I couldn't find total fault. The children were paid by Nazis to find food when the Russian snipers were all over them. And they shot them.

On the Eastern front it was total war. No punches were pulled besides chemical and biological warfare. Under the circumstances the Russians were in during ww2 yes I would shoot collaborators, in most countries the sentence for treason is death.

Of course I would. If you hesitate you will get killed, even by a child. It happened all the time in Vietnam War and also Iraq. War is hell and hesitation will get you killed.

The thing about war is, your main goal has to be to END the war. Often times that means crushing your enemy FIRST and THEN providing aid. We seem to have forgotten that lesson of history and replaced it with some fairytale bullshit that "crushing your enemies never ends war! What ends war is providing endless aid to the other side to show what a good guy you are!" It's so historically illiterate and logically retarded it's painful.
