If your country was invaded by a hostile state, would you die defending it?

- Considers you a lying and hostile state, although there were no threats against that state.
- Considers that you are indebted to them.
- Tells a history totally distorted from what you were educated in school and family and historical evidence.
- Does not accept your country's wishes and considers them dangerous, although they are harmless.
- The history between the two countries has always been a bloody one.

That's kind of funny, because it depends. I am Polish and I live in Poland - as of now, the only "hostile" state that could theoretically invade Poland is Russia. Now, with Russia, the leader of the Lower House of the Polish Parliament did actually voice threats against Vladimir Putin, claiming "we" (whatever that means) will stomp Him into the ground. Our mutual history with Russia is also kind of bloody, though the worst offender, the USSR, does not exist anymore and it was technically not Russia. The other points You made about this generalized "hostile state" either apply to Russia only partially or not at all. Now, if Russia invaded Poland, I would either flee the country or defect to Russia if somehow successfully drafted into the military (and hopefully join in on the slaughter of all those evil psychopaths in this "Polish" government who want me dead just for being a man). In case none of these options were available, I would likely die, but I would do as little as possible in terms of actually "defending" anything. See, the "Polish" government literally wants me dead for simply being a man - there is no reason whatsoever for me to defend those evil psychopaths, far less to die doing it. Basically, Poland is not independent, it has been subjected to a hostile takeover by the leftist EU, and the leftist EU and its puppet government in Poland wants Polish men (and men in general, to be honest) dead just for being men.

Now... From the latter parts of the previous example, we could assume that the leftist EU is a "hostile (para-) state" that has "invaded" Poland. The leftist EU would also fulfill all of those points You made about this generalized "hostile state". If that's the situation we're talking about, I would absolutely defend Poland from said "invasion" as soon as a rebel government was put in place to lead the uprising against the EU. In fact, I am calling this hostile para-state out for being an international terrorist organization even now that there is no rebel government fighting back against the invasion yet. However, I am going to do my best not to die while doing all that. I want to live in independent Poland one day, with a loving wife and a happy Family.

@Levin Well... The resistance was partial at best and it all but ceased after the last Parliament elections. Except within the society, I guess. The society keeps up the resistance, but the current government has sold us out to the EU (and even more enthusiastically than the former one, which made it look like they resist). As of now, we have pretty much uncontrolled immigration from Ukraine, and criminal gangs have already started forming up. The former government fought the illegal immigration by selling visas to those who could afford it, including the "engineers" at the Belarussian border. The current government has readily accepted "returned" immigrants who allegedly got to Germany through Poland (and the allegations are obviously made up) without a word of protest first thing after taking power. So, really, we are in dire need of our own Amelia here...

I might also add that defending the country means defending it from enemies from without and from within.
