Would you fight for your country against an invading Enemy? Whether that enemy is an Army or a Virus?

i don't think i'd fight for my country, unless that fight was at my front door. if my life was threatened then yes. if an army or virus came into my town and it was obvious they were gonna kill everyone then how can you not fight against that?
it goes against human nature to not fight back. even your body immediately starts to fight when it's under attack
An invading enemy? The US isn’t likely to be invaded. It’s more likely that democracy in the US will be destroyed by an authoritarian minority overturning the results of the popular vote, as they attempted to do on January 6th.
I would. They would probably tell me I'm to old though. LOL

Youve completely lost the f*cking plot along with your mind. You need a therapist badly. Each post and comment is more radical and nonsensical than the last. Who hurt you? When's the last time you had a good conversation with your parents? Please turn off the tv and social media for a few weeks, you're losing what little humanity remains in you at this point.
It seems unwise to risk ceasing to exist personally so that an entity may live on, when that same entity would not sacrifice its own existence as an entity so that I may live on personally.
Nah, seems like a REAL bad deal for me, and I don’t sign up for lopsided deals.
No, because I don't have a country. I just don't see myself as belonging to some small tribe that is in perpetual conflict with all those around it. I don't need to be defined, or "identify" as being this or that. I belong to Planet Earth, full stop.
No. Because the biggest threat to my country now is internal and external threats are just distractions used to keep people from thinking about the internal ones.
I am too old to serve in the military but I would find another way to serve.
A virus is a natural occurring phenomenon. Not equivalent to a foreign army.
What? What does that word even mean?
I don’t think so. You’re too much of a little lefty bitch for anyone to be subservient to you.
"A virus is a natural occurring phenomenon."
Having a bunch of animals crammed so close together in cages that they shit, piss, spit and bleed all over each other is hardly "natural"...
@Ad_Quid_Orator fuck off.
@Ad_Quid_Orator war could be called a natural phenomenon of human blood lust.
And China invading the US and the genesis of the coronavirus would be/are results of policies enacted by the CCP

@WowwGirl
And?
@Ad_Quid_Orator And you’re the only moron still clinging to the wet market theory. Go away.
is this what this idiot's question was about? What a stretch? What science fiction?
@Ad_Quid_Orator Brought to you by the same scientists who told you the vaccine was 95% effective, lol.
Against the variant most prevalent at the time it was developed; way to knit-pick jackass.
But I guess we should be really scared because the CCP knew which bat coronaviruses to keep secret since the knew which one would be accidentally leaked in 2017 when they published the list of virus they would study and that pangolin viruses had good binding receptors even though no one ever studied pangolin coronaviruses in a lab before 2020.
@Ad_Quid_Orator oh, so since the formulation of the shots hasn't changed, it seems stupid to get a booster for this variant.
It seems stupid to you because you live in a bubble where you're the only one who matters; if people get booster shots -> less people get the virus -> fewer chances for it to mutate into new variants.
www.pfizer.com/.../pfizer-and-biontech-provide-update-omicron-variant
But if it wasn't for right wing groups spreading vaccine disinformation, more people would have gotten vaccinated, fewer infections would have occurred and the virus would have had fewer opportunities to mutate into new variants.
See what the right does for their fear mongering regarding state overreach is hamper efforts to curtail the spread of the virus and when the virus has a chance to adapt thanks to how people react to their misinformation, you shits will say "see, X doesn't work after all, it's just the state trying to gain more power".
@Ad_Quid_Orator you show your constant idiocy time and time again. Vaccine hesitancy is the fault of
1) Fauci and Biden lying about the efficacy
2) Pharmaceutical companies being exempt from liability for any damage their vaccines cause
3) Having to still follow “covid rules” even after being vaccinated; no point if nothing changes
4) People vaccinated getting covid.
5) people understand their risk of dying from covid and make judgments accordingly.
6) People being bribed/threatened/coerced to take the shots. Normal people don’t like being told what to do.
1. They were talking about the efficacy against the alpha variant (at a time when omicron didn't exist and delta had just been identified).
2. I never stated that I think that they should be immune; you're putting words in my mouth.
3. You can handle a higher case load before you have to impose COVID rules if more people are vaccinated so yeah it changed.
4. No vaccine is 100% effective.
5. Except viruses are transmissible and when people act irresponsibly it screws over others; any fight against a pandemic is first and foremost a collective one.
@Ad_Quid_Orator
1) again, you dipshits keep going back to variants changing. The vaccines haven't changed to accommodate the new variants. SO if that's what's fucking with the efficacy, then there's no need to push the vaccines. Every time you try to spin this bullshit you make yourself look stupider.
2) I'm explaining why people are "vaccine hesitant"
3) Again, that's explaining why people are vaccine hestiant. Your stupid spin on that fact is irrelevant.
4) No vaccine is 100% - again, no fucking shit. These shots are WAY far past "No VaCciNE is 100%" They're worse than flu shots - which again, aren't mandated
5) People not taking the vaccine has fuckall to do with the disease spread when the vaccines experience failure > 70% of the time.
1) They're working on new vaccines but if we don't curtail the spread (through restrictions and vaccinations; the vaccine is less effective against delta and omicron but it isn't useless) the virrus will continue to mutate into new variants faster than we can develop vaccines for them.
2. COVID has way worse long term health impacts than the vaccine:
www.nature.com/.../s41598-021-95565-8
3. That's how viruses operate but if people weren't spreading BS about how "vaccines either work or they don't" this would be less of a problem'
4 & 5. Flu vaccines are 40-60% effective while the vaccine is 95% effective against alpha and 88% effective against delta. Also, the flu hasn't killed this many people in this amount of time in over 100 years.
@Ad_Quid_Orator The vaccinated are spreading omicron.
Like the plaque they are. Glenn Beck got it again , sounds like crap
Omicron hasn't caused a surge in deaths (as of yet) while delta and alpha have.
If it's serious enough, I would.
Technically my country is being invaded by all sides by illegal immigrants, not as much as the US, but it still happens.
Are we really comparing a virus to an invading army now? Geez as if this hysteria hasn't gotten out of hand enough.
While many other diseases have killed far more?
Why aren't those invading factions? Flu, polio, smallpox, malaria, swine flu, SARS etc have all killed people so why haven't we treated those as an invasion? Why not just keep the world locked down so that no one dies ever again?
We didn't always have vaccines for them moron. Before then, we never had this big of a meltdown if we did at all.
You seriously believe that we have always had vaccines for diseases?
Yeah, we did and we never required that people trap themselves in their homes by law because of it. If we really did then the only reason we would have ever gotten the cure or vaccines for it is if the people acted in defiance of those laws.
You do not need the state to do that. You can make that decision with your own brain which is something the state has no right to own but will trip over themselves at any opportunity to do that.
Honestly I don't think the seatbelt laws should be a thing either. If someone has a death wish they should be the ones to make that mistake.
That is reasonable but it is still not comparable to covid because, despite having your judgement impaired, it is still a decision you make. It also has a far higher death rate than covid.
You think getting crushed in a massive metallic object that might also be on fire after the fact has a lower chance of death than a disease that resembles a bad cold for the vast majority of people who get it?
How many crashes happen compared to the amount of infections?
The comparisons of cases and deaths is one of if not the only way to say how deadly a virus is. As far as I have seen, all this government overreach is total overkill and it made a lot of people angry.
937,678 out of 76,961,315 cases (1.2% death rate) is still pretty consistent throughout the time we had it. Especially considering the comorbidities a lot of Americans have.
I did not say it was meaningless I said it cannot be compared to actual war.
If EVERYONE was thrust into WW2 then you'd have a point.
You aren't listening to me. Read my previous comment or don't participate at all.
Were women and children of all countries drafted to fight on the battlefield?
And army YES.
A visrus, NO.
i know.
But whit the virus i don't need to do nothing, it kill only thous who are not healty and the older one.
The army will kill evrybody no mather age or healt.
Alwase a NAZY then a COMMUNIST. ALWASE.
USA politic is a complet shit.
Ther is not a political institution in USA who can suport my vision.
My ideas are splets between liberals and conservators.
I'm from Europ, here is a completly diferent univers for USA politic.
Only if it was a serious and dire threat.
"Estimates of deaths range from 17 million to 50 million, and possibly as high as 100 million, making it one of the deadliest pandemics in human history."
That was just from the Spanish flu, and we all saw what the flu has evolved into today.
We can fight the virus but what we are doing now is not the right way to go about it. We should vaccinate the vulnerable and encourage the healthy people to develop natural immunity.
And of course we do not need the stomp on our civil liberties in order to do this.
No..
