Why are some people so adamant about Desantis running for President? Isn’t it just going to divide and weaken the party?

So the thing is, Florida and conservatives around the country need Ron Desantis in Florida.

We need a reliable and safe place to go when shit hits the fan.

And who’s going to replace him in Florida as Governor for the next two years if he’s elected President?

And as far as I’m concerned, since Desantis has done such a great job as governor in Florida, why should he leave his post for somebody else?

Shouldn’t he just serve out the rest of his term focusing on the issues in his home state instead of interrupted by the implications of National politics?

And besides Trump is already a proven candidate that works.

Trump has given us and brought us the results we need. And he’s already proven he CAN WIN an election.

Desantis might be very popular in Florida, but he’s an unproven candidate in National politics.

It is still unknown and anyone’s best guess whether or not he would be able to carry the Rust Belt, energize the party enough and connect with voters in the same way Trump’s been able to.

But more importantly, if Desantis enters the race it is going to wedge a serious divide among Republicans instead of uniting us behind one single candidate.

Trump is our guy and it is going to be very consequential for the party’s morale as a whole if we try to replace him.

And not just that but if we replace Trump than we’re also virtue signalling to the political left that we’re letting them dictate our internal political state of affairs, since they want nothing more than to see Trump gone themselves.

I literally don’t give a rats ass what the media has to say either because they said he was gonna lose big in 2016, and they also said he was gonna lose big in 2020, even though he only “lost” that election by a 40,000 vote margin across three states.

And that was despite being an incumbent in an unfavorable national environment (with the pandemic and economic downturn)

So shouldn’t Trump just continue to remain where he’s already succeeded for as long as possible?

My point is, Trump’s already declared his Candidacy and if Desantis enters the race it’s just going to divide and weaken the party and cause a lot of frustration and division among people and it helps absolutely no one in the process.
