The recent phenomenon of female tiktokers video recording random men and labeling them “creeps” in fitness gyms really infuriated me.
Not to say some true creeps don’t exist and they absolutely should be called out on their crap. But more often than not these women felt justified videotaping an innocent man who said or did absolutely nothing. At worst he glanced a few times in her direction. His real crime is he’s just unattractive and he happened to notice a female gym goer who is usually wearing clothing that shows off her body.
Also these women are often doing something that would catch anybody’s attention. For example one girl was doing hand stands which not something everyone can do more do you see people practicing every day.
Anyway I know there are bitchy women out there. However the fact these women felt didn’t even pause for a split second to consider that they could destroy a private citizen’s reputation with subjective evidence is what is most insane. They had to take the time to edit these videos and post them. It wasn’t even done in the heat of the moment.
Once you publish a video of stranger online the damage is permanent. Sure they’re legitimate scenarios when a guy blatantly said or did something directly harassing where this might be justified. But most of these videos are just men who glance and are “creepy” just because the woman doesn’t find the guy attractive.
It’s not legal to slander a private citizen like this (you can be sued for character assassination).
However the fact these women feel so confident and justified to publish this crap in the first place says a lot about our society.
But I’ve seen a few times of men being sexist against women. While it was gross and wrong it was almost ALWAYS called out. True dbags don’t get away with it for very long.
But women do this crap they really have to put up a neon sign that they’re disgusting haters to get backlash. Most of the time they get away with it.
