Wow.. have we not been using female crash dummies before? That sounds INCREDIBLY stupid. It is REALLY fucking important to know how various human forms handles crashes to optimize safety. If they had not even considered the unique situation of women then there are a lot of people who needs to be fired today because they clearly can't do their jobs.

But no. I suspect this is just another moral panic made by the right wing. I got no reason to believe anything of this is actually real, judging from all the other examples of similar "shocking" news that has turned out to be bullshit.

@Agagagagaga Yepp. After having read this, it has nothing to do with social politics and everything to do with actual scientific testing and development in vehicle safety. In other words, it has nothing to do with being "woke" or whatever.

So, tell me again why I should be upset about crash testing facilities getting a larger variety of crash testing dummies to help make cars safer?

It is true, women have a higher chance of being injured in a car crash, as their bodies move slighty differently and seatbelt/airbags don't catch the bodies correctly. This could be changed with "female" dummies.

But its not only crashtests, females are also not accounted for when diagnosed and prescribed medicine. These are also only or mostly tested on men and dosed accordingly.
