I think it would be interesting to know where the surgery is being conducted, and how it's being conducted. As it stands, I think that's probably the most convincing conservative study on the matter that I've seen, but I don't think we can can conclusively say that it does nothing. Certainly, it doesn't seem to be doing any additional harm given that the outcomes seem to be the same anyway. I would hazard a guess that as medical care improves, you might start to see that reverse a bit.

Part of the problem is that surgery is done post-puberty, and the techniques are incredibly crude. If your choices are between looking like the wrong sex vs looking like a sexless mutilated body, you won't have a positive mental health outcome in that person. Again though, if cutting your dick off DOESN'T worsen your mental health, than it would seem as though the dick cutting is irrelevant, and at the very least satisfies a short term desire.

Man, I just don't think mutilating someone to satisfy their body dysmorphia is the right way to go. We don't entertain people who want to be amputated or who want to look like foxes this way.

Yes. Mainly because I rightfully dont believe a word coming out of your mouth and this does not go nearly far enough to disprove decades of good results coming from gender affirming care.

What people like you appear incapable of realizing is that gender affirming care has been going on for a while, in-spite of what you believe having only heard about it yesterday from Fox News and subsequently a lot of study and data has been collected regarding it ever since which faaaaaaar outweighs this to the point where this is but a statistical anomaly that can be dismissed as such.

Don't believe me, believe the scientists. I provided the link right up there and even showed you a screenshot as a preview. There's a lot more on this website and this is far from being settled science. If you understand science that you should know that nothing is ever truly settled.

Did you know we have more evidence for evolution than we do for gravity?

Yes, I believe the scientists but I dont trust that what you provided is accurate or honest. I got my own sources regarding the science of gender affirming care and it does not agree with what you say in any way shape or form. I also know that gravity is one of the bigger unknowns in science and that has more to do with the problem of measuring and testing it rather than its existence meaning the research is extremely costly and slow by comparison to evolution.

Basically, you have not proved anything to me beyond the doubts I have about your credibility as a source.

Because I have literally never heard scientists say anything like it before or read any studies that supported this. When you have literally a lifetime of experience telling you one thing you are not just going to do a 180 because some random person on the internet, which you know is unreliable already, tells you everything you already know is wrong.

Again, this is not some small thing. This is the scientific consensus across the entire world and somehow a single organization in USA has decided that its literally the opposite. This is not convincing me at all.

It's a hard thing on them but they will never be the gender they desire regardless of the plastic surgery, drugs and hormone replacement therapy they get. They should start looking at what causes gender dysmorphia and nip it in the bud, could be as simple as the fluoride in the water.

    Interesting article.

I assume that "gender affirming care" is a euphemism for medical treatment.

Any kind of dysphoria is a mental problem and should be treated as such.

Did Michael Jackson's continual plastic surgery cure his body dysphoric condition? No. It was just an opportunity for plastic surgeons to make piles of money.

All those, especially medical professionals, who subscribe to the idea that a person can physically change their gender through drugs and surgery are either opportunists or as mentally disturbed as the people for whom they advocate. They cause harm and should be criminalized.

Those who attempt to twist children's minds by exposing them to perversion and confusion about their genders should also be criminalized.

STOP normalizing and encouraging gender dysphoria!

As much as I respect people that come forward with it, I never thought it was a good practice, anyway. They still don't have the ability to recreate the uterus and everything to turn them into a woman or the facilities to make a fully functional make reproductive system. It isn't like science fiction where they can turn you into a woman and have you be able to make life. A trans woman still needs to get a prostate exam

Never even heard the term "gender affirming care" before, sometimes it feels like some of society lives on an entirely different world.

Gender dysphoria I've heard of. People who have sex change surgery are dumb.

"Certainty in this conclusion is limited by high risk of bias in study designs, small sample sizes, and confounding with other interventions. We could not draw any conclusions about death by suicide. Future studies should investigate the psychological benefits of hormone therapy among larger and more diverse groups of transgender people using study designs that more effectively isolate the effects of hormone treatment."

As soon as you start giving them those puberty blockers, you are condemning that child to be sterile for life. You know most adult women have trouble getting sterilizations if they have not had a child before?

My account was frozen so I'm going to use this secondary one to reply to you. Fuck these mods. Also I'm going to have to make the link look weird because of the rules 🙄

"The informed consent documents from Children's Hospital Los Angeles — which has one of the largest transgender centers in the country — obtained by the California Family Council, reveal that the hospital has also warned patients and parental guardians that the drugs do indeed yield infertility in those who undergo the experimental procedures."

"The forms also warn about the risks puberty blockers have regarding bone density and development."

"For males transitioning to appear more female, a similar warning of the adverse impact on fertility reads: “Sperm may not mature, leading to reduced fertility. The ability to make sperm normally may or may not come back even after stopping taking feminizing medication."

"The hospital's informed consent documents were obtained with the help of Judicial Watch, a conservative activist group that files Freedom of Information Act lawsuits to investigate government misconduct, Dr. Michael Laidlaw, an endocrinologist from Rocklin, told the California Family Council. "

Did you know these puberty blockers also have lupron? Lupron is used to chemically castrate sex offenders.

      http s://ww w. christian post.
      com/ news/pube rty-blockers-cross-sex-hormones- do-sterilize-minors-childrens-hospital-consent-documents-show. html

I will add that a bunch of other sources claim that the puberty blockers themselves don't cause sterility but instead the hormone treatment itself does. This is a way to try to sneak in puberty blockers as something safe even though they have lupron in it.
