Do you believe in gender equality?

I honestly feel that your engagement in this type of discourse, admirable. Please understand that the answers you will receive, will be from a varied set of societies and walks of life.
My answer: Hell No
There are tons of things that females can naturally do better and more efficiently than males, and vice versa. There's a sense of pride in these things that get eroded by the idea of "Gender Equality". And if you subscribe to the idea that there are more genders than the binary male/female, then these are just 2 examples of many many more.
Ideologically, the genders deserve equal respect, equal opportunity, equal merit based rewards. Biologically, the genders are very different, with different abilities and capabilities that will unequivocally lead to different results.
The colloquial definition of "Gender Equality" is a fallacy that encompass many aspects that counter one another and has been weaponized in order to force agendas and facilitate some people being categorized as inadequate over others.
To me the idea of gender equality is rather silly.
Men and women are very different.
We excel at different things.
There are so many wonderful things about women that I absolutely love, especially a woman who has embraced her feminine nature and takes great pride and care in herself.
That is a force of nature that any man can reckognise, even if he is not into women.
At the same time, men are better at building and organizing. I personally can literally move something that weighs as much as 3 million pounds with nothing more than a couple of phone calls because I know how to do it, and I know who to call to get it done.
There are many more examples that I could offer.
We are not the same, but because we are not the same it does not mean either are bad for being what we are.
The problem is when we try to insist people be what they are not.
What really matters is that we have the right to make our choices in life, so as that we are able to live our lives how we see fit.
That is freedom.
We all equally deserve that kind of freedom.
That is such tricky question despite what some people may think. As a woman myself, of course I believe and want women to be treated fairly and not be discriminated or objectified, this goes without saying however I think there are some things that can go a little over the top and could be called as a 'double standard' or something that perhaps wasn't suppose to be equal such as the strength of a woman against a man not being equal especially when it comes to sports. Overall yes, I definitely support equality buy I do think some people are trying to take too much from this movement.
Yes I do. Men and women should be treated equally and have the same opportunities because the world needs both.
However gender equality is something that will never be achieved.

Honestly I believe in who ever is suited for the job gets it. If I feel like a woman isn't doing a good enough job, she gets fired. If i feel like a man isn't doing a good enough job, he get fired. Do I believe in gender equality? No because why should someone get paid the same amount if the person who is working is not nearly as good as the other. If a man is working far more than the women than he should be paid more. Vise versa, same for the woman. I don't care what gender you are, However I have a piece of paper that tells me how much money your making me, how many hours your doing, how many times you come late for work, or not working at all. Why should I pay you just because you got a piece of paper saying your a expert at this job? I don't care about that either, I just care about what you can do for me and this company and if you can't do it, or just don't want to, or just don't like me. You see that box over there pick it up and put your stuff in it, now you see that door, i will let sercurity lead you out. Have a good day
People make the mistake of confusing equality of opportunity and equality of results.
Every American citizen has equal rights under the law. They already have equality by law.
What people don't have, nor should they, is a right to have the same results in their life as anyone else. Some people are more talented, work harder, have better luck, more popular ideas or are smarter than others. So in a free society, some will do better than others. The only way to stop that is to take away the freedom to succeed and make everyone equally as unsuccessful. That's the result of socialism and communism.
Do you want to live in a place like that? Not many people do because we all dream of being a greater success. That's why socialists and communists have to trick people to gain power. They can't sell their ideas to them because people don't want to live in a world where they can't possibly make their lives better off no matter what they do.
You can have freedom and equality of opportunity, but you can't have freedom and equality of results.
It is statistically innacurate to claim women are as physically strong as men. But we live in civilization and the whole point of civilization is to eliminate all dependence our species has on physical strength (i. e. hunting rifles instead of chasing down a deer with a pointy stick). So, ideally, gender equality will either occur naturally or seem a demand much harder to argue against as we progress as a society. But there are those who cling to the bits of the past they've defined their self worth by, so there it will always be an uphill struggle with the dead weight of the dying slowing us down.
That depends on what you mean by equality. I believe, under the law, everyone should be legally equal (at least initially, you lose certain rights when you like murder people, then your are no longer "legally" equal). I also believe in equal opportunity in regards to employment and other skill-relevant things. But I don't believe that men and women are equal biologically. I mean men, on average, are stronger, have more bone density, among other things. Women, on average, are more compassionate, less aggressive, among other things. This is inherently unequal, but that doesn't make it wrong. I don't believe that if a woman has something then a man must have that too, since things needs to be "equal."
When it comes to gender equality from a perspective on how both genders are treated? Yes, I do. Neither genders should be treated like shit or special snowflakes. But when it comes to abilities, no I don't. There's a difference there, and on average one gender is better at something than the other.
Look, you're not wrong when you say everything is individualistic, but ON AVERAGE, there will be certain tasks one gender will perform better than the other.
Ye it actually does? Look at sports
Yes, I agree with gender equality, right now Women are being paid less with jobs than Men and It's time that Women be paid the same salary and the same amount as Men. I support Women getting free birth control. free menstrual cycle supplies such as Pads, Tampons, Menstrual cups, etc., and Male teenagers should be taught to use condoms to help prevent pregnancy, and Female teenagers free birth control medications to prevent pregnancy.
Yes I do because there's nobody more important than anybody else in this world were all human beings we all deserve the same and we should all help each other get there
No I don't. No [biological] guy will ever know what it's like to give birth, and no [biological] girl will ever know what it's like to have testicular torsion. We have different experiences, and those lead to diffetent outlooks on life. We hold different things at different values, so we're not going to be able to see eye to eye on everything.
Yes I do because we are both people. We both have to work jobs, pay taxes, suffer on this Earth, striving for the same thing. Yes there may be some biological inequities, but that's a different conversation. We both deserve the same opportunity, same rights, same security.
What is the scale of measurement? How do you measure two totally different genders? They come with their own qualities - how is love compared to courage? There is no such scale of equality.
But if you ask me how is the equality seen these days.
Women are above men now, have more power than any time in history. Except Some Muslim countries.
No. Because men and women aren't equal. If you asked me which is better id ask at what? They're different. That isn't the same as equal or better
As citizens equal in the eye of the law yes.
Socially? hell no.
Biologically? At what?
Academically? At what?
Psychologically? Different.
YES 100% we are all human and we deserve to be treated the same regardless of sex. Anything a man can do a woman can do as well, and vice versa.
That simply can't happen due to a bitch called biology
@pablodesperado do you realize some men can be born with more estrogen and some women born with more testosterone 😐? Your “biology” needs a system upgrade
@doopayo à male can have more estrogen than a female , but he will NOT have ovaries. A female can have more testerone than a male, but she NOT have a prostate. That's biology. If you notice, I used the terms male and female and not man and woman
Man and woman are human constructs and does not truly exist in biology. If you have a Y chromosome you're BIOLOGICALLY male. What you identify man or woman is a personal choice but biologically speaking the presence of a Y chromosome makes you male. So @pablpdeaerado definition is correct
Gender equality. So should women have to sign up for the selective service?
Should women be expected to pay for dates?
Is it OK for a man to cry over a breakup or should he "man up"
These are legit questions. I'm not saying I'm in favor or agaisnt the aforementioned.
Depends what we are talking about. Equal pay for the same job position, yes. We should be granted the same rights and less discrimination? Yes. Ignoring the idea of understanding and identifying our strengths per gender? No. We are not built the same. Everyone isn't. Mentally and physically.
Not particularly since the phrase is ambiguous and usually used by feminists to push for some stupid marginal and arbitrary "improvement" for women's lives.
I prefer equality of opportunity for all.
Sorry... I couldn't help not linking this.
Yeah of course. I'm not naive enough to think that were the same. But I do believe that men and women are equally valuable in their own way.
100% YES! Gender equity? NO! But gender equality, I’m all for! I believe wholeheartedly in equality of opportunity, but equality of outcome is disgusting!
I’m not going to say that one gender is more or less important than the other - both deserve respect and care - I also do not understand gender enough to speculate who works harder or who is more ethical - I have no idea
I do believe in gender equality but i also think its good to be realistic. There are some things girls can do but guys can't and vice versa. Men and women compliment each other and with both our strengths and weakness we built all of civilization.
I believe in gender equality. I think the institionalized process of advantaging females over males due to based on what kind of genitals they have is criminal, especially if we consider that female unemployment has been lower than male unemployment for about a decade now. this is especially unfair to young school age children
