Maybe just fun and feeling high-class? I have a friend who loves these fancy wines like $400 bottle of wine. I can't tell the diff with $12 bottle from grocery store.

My wife and I once tried a test on her so we poured cheap grocery store wine into very expensive bottle and see if she could tell. Then she did her swirling of the cup and sniff it and drink it and she couldn't tell at all.

But I don't want to knock on her thing too much since she seems to dig it. I don't wanna ruin her poetry.
