The oath of office consists of swearing an oath on a book that explicitly tells you not to swear any oaths, on anything, ever, and that such deeds come from the Devil. Nor is that instruction buried in Leviticus, or some obscure book of prophecy; it's in the freaking Sermon on the Mount, in Matthew- arguably the most famous part of the most important (for Christians, anyway) part of the Bible.
