That is one hell of a rubbish list. For starters, lets address the obvious. Russia is losing a land war against Ukraine. A land war that they initiated, meaning that they were confident in winning and had the benefit of preparing as well as choosing the time and place for. That is utterly humiliating and very directly means that Ukraine should be ranked higher than Russia.
As for Ukraine, they are currently in a state of war. If they have not fielded one million men already then they are about to. My guess is that they have long since gone past that but its important to mention since the difference between a country at war and a country at peace is like night and day.
Nothing against the countries on this list aside from USA and possibly India, South Korea and China but Ukraine with its mobilized forces far surpass what they are fielding in peace times.
We also need to ask ourselves why North Korea is not on this list. Of course, its not guaranteed that they will perform as "intended" but they do have a ridiculously large military.
So yeah.. This list is rubbish.
How exactly is this being calculated? "Largest" implies numbers in which case China is larger than the US by a pretty good margin, and Russia can be considered larger by technicality if their paramilitary border force (I forget its actual name) is included (considering they have tanks and gunship helicopters it's not exactly fair to omit them), and this would also make a lot of nations other than the US significantly larger than they otherwise appear.
Typically the best measure of how powerful a military actually is revolves around force projection and logistics capabilities, which are most simplistically represented by the numbers of operational carriers and escort carriers, which typically divides countries into three groups: The USA, every country that has any carriers, and then everybody else who has none. You can also factor in long range bombers and airborne deployment capabilities, which is largely an identical comparison with the notable addition of Russia being significantly higher in this respect compared to scoring their navy.
Yes as the US is not the largest China is but in terms of military power I'd say top ten are
1. US Airforce
2. US Navy
3. US Army
4. US Marine Corp
5. UK military
6. China
7. France
8. Japan
9. India
10. Australia

Not greatly surprised. But the relative ranking of Russia and China was unexpected t me. India fairly obvious, particularly after Chinas border incursions in the depths of Covid (clever as it didn't make headlines with covid).
Pakistan is not surprising with India next door. Ditto with South korea. I am surprised North Korea is not in the top ten.
I would think China is second merely by virtue of its manpower. Then India for the same reason. Frankly, after watching the Ukraine War, without nukes I think the UK could also take Russia. No way Italy should be there and not North Korea or Israel.
I am surprised a bit that North Korea is not on that list, but, I suspect they keep their data secret - which is exactly what they should do.
By what standard? Clearly the Russian army sux. If not for their nuclear power, they are a joke. Can't even take Ukraine. China is the biggest. USA is fading fast with poor leadership, crap moral and dismay recruitment.
New Turkish UAV and helicopter carrier
Okay. I don't know how Italy got in there, over Germany
Yeah. I mean, Russia had to buy weapons from Kim, which should be telling you everything you need to know right there.
And no Israel either?
I don't know what criteria they used for this list, but it's clearly the wrong one
That doesn't make them the strongest or largest
Once Republicans take control, we will get even stronger.
I’m happy we’re number one what does Greece rank?
Yes that's why we are in NATO thank you America haha.
The rank of France is catastrophic, 10 or 15 years ago we were 5th, one or two years ago we were 7th.
I don't understand this ranking to be honest, I can't believe that Russia is ahead of China, or that France is behind Pakistan...
Last I heard. The US is having drags recruit the navy…
What if they break a nail?
Someone posted that question here. I don’t remember who. I don’t know the truth.
@midnightmoon05 I remember that question
Yeah especially India and Pakistan
no , this is not surprising to me
Not surprised, but definitely depressed. :(
pretty much the same as always
Yes, I'm surprised the U. S. is still number one.
Russia is a joke
