Will republicans be happy if the USA was a single party state run by the Republican party where no free elections were held?

It seems to me that they would be happy with a single party dictatorship will all of their whining on how democrats don't deserve power and how many death threats republicans give to liberals on a daily basis.

That would never happen. The Republican party is only united by mutual opposition to the Democrats, and are otherwise undermining each other. If the Democrats disappeared for whatever reason, the Republicans would split into 3-5 smaller parties that would essentially be corporatists/neocons, constitutionalists, classical liberals, and libertarians.

The Democrats would not have that issue however. Even if they did split, it wouldn't even be close to a 50:50.

That isn't true. The percentage of Democrats who are extremely liberal is lower than the percentage of Republicans who are extremely conservative.

They absolutely would. Trump is the ultimate wannabe dictator. DeSantis is banning things every day (so much for personal freedom) and punishing anyone who speaks out against him (so much for free speech). Whichever one wins, there will be no criticisms of Dear Leader. They pretty much want to turn us into China or Russia or North Korea.
