Why do people like the role of being victimised/ taking the role of victims?

For some they are probably victims of something, but to what degree who really knows. I stub my toe and I am like darn; someone stubs their toe and they got straight off to the hospital. So who knows? What makes their trials and tribulations more traumatic or a bigger deal then the average pain in the ass shit that happens to people, and who gets to decide that? I do not know.

I can't say they did not hurt their toe, or how gauge how traumatic it was for them... but people stub their toes everyday get over it.

On the other hand, claiming victim status allows some people to escape taking responsibility for their own choices, decision and behaviors and they use it as crutch to hobble through life.
