Is it fair to jail Nazi's from WW2 that are still alive, even if they'd be killed if they refused it?

Why? It is 80 years ago. 80 years of life changes people. What is it going to accomplish to punish them now? If they were ever to feel remorse they have lived with it. And if not, why fuel the younger generation with hate we could leave behind now?

It will accomplish absolutely nothing. Also just legally speaking, any statute of limitation is long expired. Are we to break and rewrite laws to punish 100 year olds now?
