“Men could survive in a society without women, but women couldn’t survive in a society without men.” Thoughts?

If women disappeared for say 6 months to a year to day it would make little difference to how I live being a single men, I cook, clean, shop, etc for myself, but I saw this quote from a woman which is below;
What would the world be like without men?
We would be well and truly fucked.
Putting aside the obvious issue of re-population, our daily lives would grind to a halt.
Our entire infrastructure is pretty much thought up by men, built by men, managed and maintained by men.
Roads, bridges, factories, cars, petrol stations, sewer systems, nuclear plants, houses etc.
Who’s doing the farming that supplies food to the grocery stores? Who’s driving most of the trucks that deliver the goods to the grocery stores? Who built the grocery stores? Who designed the trucks that deliver the goods? Who built the factory that built the trucks? And so on.
Sure, women could engineer or design things, but would women alone be able to physically build a great big, fuck-off bridge that’s miles long? Are women lining up for jobs in sewer systems and coal mines?
A woman could most certainly survive without a man in her own life. But, in today’s context, women would struggle without men in their world.
I am so grateful for the contributions of men in our daily lives. Don’t go. We need you. :-)
I’ve made an interesting observation about the responses to this answer. With the exception of three women, all the upvotes have been from men. Yesterday, one woman actually accused me of hating other women and being part of the reason women are held back. Held back? As far as I know, there’s no law stopping her from applying for construction jobs. She could design and build all the bridges she wants all her live long days. I’d tip my hat to her.
All of this does make me wonder: Are women nowadays that afraid of praising men for all they do and all they are? Does admitting that men contribute enormously make women inferior? And if that’s the thinking, then why? One has nothing to do with the other. There are millions of people in the world who are better than I am at some things, but it doesn’t make me shit, or less valuable. This answer need not be a contest. I have many views on a world without women too. The words ‘black, empty void’ spring to mind :-)

If surviving means living, yes, men can survive without women. Without men, there are many essential positions not traditionally filled by women for which they would need to assume responsibility, but I think they could do that and women would also survive.

But why would any of us want that?

Both men and women are needed for a society to work. Evan tho men do most engineering and physical jobs women are half the work force. Most teachers and other humane social jobs would dissapear making the future citizens not capable..

Men need women just as much women need men.

If all the women disappeared, the men could live out the rest of their lives although many would likely commit suicide.

If all the men disappeared, 99% of women would be dead within a year. This is because the nearly all jobs that produce food or energy as well as transportation jobs are done by men. With hardly anyone left who can produce and distribute food and energy most of the women would starve to death.

I very strongly disagree with that -- many women are already using artificial insemination to have children as it is, and I think everyone knows that a woman can remain single for a long period of time with few ill effects, but many men cannot.

Women wouldn't survive because they'd not be able to fulfill critical functions. Men wouldn't survive, I think, primarily because without having women, many would lose meaning in their lives, and so would probably kill themselves or others eventually.

A group of women being together can survive in a society without men but the conditions won't be as good.

Men working together can survive but also greatly enhance the living conditions because men are physically stronger than women.

This argument is based on the fact that men do most of the icky jobs that make society's infrastructure work. Such as electricity, plumbing, and other stuff.

They often put the framework in place on the domestic setting as well. They tend to have the main job and women prefer them to earn more.

If you accept this, then yes, men can carry on if women are there or not, women would struggle if men disappeared.

But even accepting this, it's a wild over simplification.
