What would happen if the confederate states won the American civil war?

The only way they could've won is if the union had given in and recognized the sovereignty of the CSA. In terms of numbers and economic sustainability, the Union was basically assured victory as long as it didn't give up. Even if the CSA had won in roughly the same timeframe, the infrastructure of the south was already in freefall by that point, so there's a good chance it would've fallen into either another, internal civil war, or maybe even lost some land to Mexico. The governmental structure of the CSA was also too weak to have dealt with reconstruction, and would've had to essentially mimic the Union anyway, which would of course piss off everyone who wanted to fight in the first place.

Slavery (as it was practiced at the time) would've died out on its own, probably within a couple generations of the war's end as agriculture got more industrialized. It's hard to say what relations between the two countries would've been like, and it wouldn't be beyond the pale to say they may have rejoined later on. It's very debatable whether or not the Spanish-American war would've even happened, which in turn means neither country (USA or CSA) would've been recognized as a world power until world war one. The south was on much better terms with Great Britain during both the civil war and WW1, so it's likely that they would've been more eager to get involved earlier. The north however, which was actually leaning more in favor of the central powers due to mass immigration from Germany and Ireland, may have likewise thrown in with them and attacked the CSA. This could've directly led to some massively different outcomes of that conflict, most likely with the forced reunification of the American states, and a less lopsided armistice signed in Europe.

No democracy? Not enough growth? No rights of black people? Even if they had factories that make weapons, they couldn't use them. I think the U. S. couldn’t be a great power with such an ideology. Maybe it would become a colony of great powers after a while, then be like one of the cis countries, who knows.
