have you lived in a trailer park before? not all are the same.

some are filled with sketchy people in it and others you don't see as many. not all are trashy and some are pretty nice. also you can get a feel for the neighborhood and the landlord before signing a lease. it's a lot like an apartment complex, but just not as safe when it comes to tornadoes.

trailer parks certainly can be not kid appropriate, but sometimes that's all you got for where to live.

Both. As I said to another poster here, “abuse” can be generalized. It’s triggering because of our true crime fetish of late. We auto think sex abuse, punching babies, etc. I just thought of two babies boxing and laughed…

I had a helicopter mom growing which was “abusive”. Probably just as much as a trailer park would be. But my point is to think more generally about what’s bad for kids than just punching babies.

i agree with your point, but there is a difference between abuse and bad parenting styles or potentially bad environments. it needs a different term than abuse.

abuse is an extreme action that's is hurting someone. like your mom's parenting style alone wasn't abusive, but she used it through a type of abuse it sounds like. like i was abused growing up, but my parents only did bad parenting in public when they couldn't abuse me. i can confidently tell you which one is worse lmao

extreme action is like an excessive one, so intentionally injuring your kid, threatening them, overly humiliating them, insulting them, gaslighting/manipulation, starving them, and stuff like that. it's often deliberate and has an immediate effect on the child that impacts their mental health. it has drastic impact on their life and can genuinely fuck up their brain development. it's deep rooted trauma.

bad parenting takes longer to take effect, isn't as drastic, isn't injurying the child, and not guaranteed to negatively impact the child long-term. those effects of bad parenting long-term i feel like aren't debilitating for someone's life either. however bad parenting can be used in conjuction with abuse like i said it sounds like your mom probably did (she was extreme in how she did it)

No I hada uncle who went through some hard times had to live in a trailer part for a couple of years. He naturally had to take his kids. The trailer park wasn't even bad he kept his very clean and nice and there was nice people who lived there too. Yes I'm sure some are horrible but many house ordinary people. I think if we were honest about what is actual child abuse…living in neighborhoods with only fast food around, trailer parks, bad schools, and then do a cost benefit analysis…we might find ways to solve problems.

No it doesn’t. There are 3 white peoples in my family my mom who gave birth to 2 half black children, born in 1973 and 1975 i was born in 1993 I came to live to live with my mom and dad in 1998. Mg adopt mom and dad are white my mom married a black man In the 1970s he cheated on her after having 2 kids with him my adopted dad married her after being warned not to marry her or even date her because she had half black children. Guess what he didn’t give a fuck he married her in 1983 and was willing to be a father to half black children that’s not his own. They were foster parents and had no intention of adopted me until he came home and I jumped up and down saying dad, dad dad. Both of them raise me with half black siblings I love my niece on my sister side, whose father is from Somalia. I love my brothers girlfriend. At this point I consider my sister in law and her daughter, even though he is not biologically her father. I hate the fact that she’s left-wing just as left-wing as I am right wing but I love her and we’re both trying to convince each other on which one is correct. . I want my knees to meet a nice man. I have children and raise them in the Judeo Christian way like what America has been built on. I want peace not war, but I’m not willing to reject the values of Christianity.
