Do you think the American dream is for Americans or for immigrants?

Honestly, I see a lot of growth when it comes to immigrants than it does to people that already live in America. It seems like when you come from somewhere that may have been worse. All you wanna do is work hard to make sure that you can make it where you go and especially for your family.

But then, with people that already live in America, I think it’s harder to even obtain the dream.

But I do think that when immigrants bring their children to America, they lose part of their culture only because your raise with the culture here and there and trying to make them

Isn't it for all. The way my husband describes the American dream is that if you work hard and take chances you can achieve a good home, marraige, family, enough to advance your kids and retire with dignity. From what seen in America that seems very unlikely for the majority of Americans no matter how much they work. I mean America has so much wealth and wealth on display but compared to so many other less wealthy countries so many are so much worse off. America is the kind of country that if your family stumbles a little or if you or your partner or child get seriously ill with cancer you could find your family have lost their home.

The American dream is for every LEGAL American resident. Of course the American dream is for legal immigrants.

But the American dream isn't unique to America. Freedom and the pursuit can be had by ANY peoples if they as a people want it bad enough.

To quote a SOTU speech by George W. Bush. "The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world, it's God's gift to humanity".

America does it better than anybody else because the American dream is an idea and good idea can never be destroyed so long as enough people still believe in it.

It is for both. It was supposed to be limited to legal immigrants but it looks like everyone who just comes here illegally, jumping ahead of people who observe the laws of our nation are getting the American Dream without having to work for it.

Emigrating is not easy. People who are able to emigrate tend to be more ambitious and smarter than average.
