Americans: Is the new American Dream to LEAVE the US?

I think a lot of people want to travel and explore other places in the world. Like, have a nice stable job and be financially set enough to take vacations every now and then.
The US has make it almost impossible to renounce your US citizenship. The US doesn't want to lose their tax slaves.
I say this to all my American friends. Get out if you can, while you can. We've seen other countries in decline, and it's never pretty.
It is for me. The country is very beautiful and interesting, but the people who live here have completely ruined it...

I agree with everything you said except the guys with guns.
Why do you suppose the Antifa busses kept rolling through this small Idaho town? Why didn't they stop and mingle?
@ApplePie409 While I admit you have a point, I do think Americans, mainly Conservatives have an unnatural obsession with guns, and the mass shooting crisis can't be ignored.
@ApplePie409 You are amazing

It is a fantasy of a few, but it is one of those fantasies that no one will turn into a reality. Do you want a list of celebrities who said they would leave the US if Donald Trump was elected president in 2016? It's a long list. The list of celebrities who actually did leave is non-existent.
I'd imagine that it would be to many hardcore leftists who don't really have any idea what it's like to permanently live somewhere else. The way I see it, don't make it ideological- if you are from the US and have better economic opportunities elsewhere, go take advantage of them. Or if you have a particularly strong cultural affinity for another society. But there are always downsides (and I say this as someone who has been an immigrant and lived over half his life outside his home country).
There are some other countries I'd like to live in, but I don't sit around dreaming of leaving the US.
No. It's to live in a country without the far right being flushed with billionaire cash trying to establish a permanent religious nationalist state. But unfortunately that is happening everywhere in world right now, not just the US. We are just better at fighting each other so it's having a harder time setting in.
You must be crazy. America is a federation of states and as a result each state runs their own show. From my perspective things are improving significantly in my state. If you don't like how your state is being run, then you're probably in the wrong state around the wrong group of people.
I hope so.. so sick of people crying about how bad it is here and how horrible it is here, while never actually having any experience on how the world really is.
If you hate it here then pack up all your blue and pink hair dye grab all your piercings and head over to Palestine and tell them all about your gender theory and how your non binary and queer.. see how reality treats your snowflake ass outside of the protection of the US.. good luck
I've had real world experience. I don't have any pink hair or piercings and am certainly not queer. I'm a Moderate Conservative who has traveled to over 30 countries and it made me realize just how backwards the U. S. and it's people really are.
So quit your identity politics, because people like YOU are part of the problem. A true Conservative and patriot would be able to see and acknowledge that this country has gone to shit.
@KostasKouvalis so leave.. problem solved
I know people who are looking into it in case Trump is elected. I'm going to retire early. I might consider it.
It seems like a growing trend indeed. Some people do leave America for good. I can see why and I've only spent in total 3 weeks of my life on American soil.
Where? To Canada, where the problems mirror our own, but with a more obtrusive government? To Mexico, with 4x the murder rate? To Europe, to be dependent on Putin for heating in the winter?
Yes. A decaying empire is no place to be when the final collapse comes...
Just long enough to find a spouse and bring them back to the US?
If that's what you meant, yes
For the jackass idiots that want to leave, Leave. No one is stopping you. Get out, but we all know you will never leave. What a stupid question.
To find someplace where you won't be shot in church, at school, at the mall, at a concert, and you don't have nut job extremists nominationg politicians? yes.
oh hell yes. I dream of returning to Europe and never again seeing this country. It has become unlivable.
LOL.. Where are going to go? The BS system of overworking people and getting paid bull is in nearly all countries.
No, it is partitioning Patriots away from Leftists. This is coming.
Sure for those that have no understanding of what freedom is. Those that want to leave, let's dump them in the middle east, or some place where their rights aren't protected.
If Biden gets re-elected, than I think we will see a mass exodus. I doubt he would even care if that happens.
It should be, given America's imminent collapse, Trump or no Trump.
I wouldn't ever leave the states.
@katebfun yes that’s what it looks like
At least try Tennessee first.
I know a few ex-pats. They seem happy.
Not at all, America love it or leave it
