What are some under reported news?

What do you think that's underreported by the media in our society

Generally speaking: news that actually explains a situation instead of making it only interesting for those allready knowing about it.
News that dont involve money in some form on national or international level.
Helpfull information for those that are normally not targeted to receive this help. (Literally my job)
And of course the all problematic different viewpoints about something from people normally not in focus.

I am interested to hear answers to this from a consumer perspective though. My input is from a reporter perspective.

I think car crashes and murders are under reported because usually car crashes are so common that most do not make it on the news and murders are only discussed most of the time when the police think they can catch the guy who did it cause if they keep posting about unsolved murders, it will encourage others to murder thinking they will never get caught.

I know a guy who told me less than 10% of murders get solved because most murders happen with strangers who have no connection to the victim so the assailant is harder to trace. If you watch the news, it seems like 95% or more get solved because they only report cases they think they can solve.

Available treatments for early onset covid before a person needs hospitalization.

The existence of bio-labs that develop transgenic viruses (bio weapons).

People who regret "transitioning".

The real reasons for the war in Ukraine.
The war crimes committed by Ukrainian Nazis against Ukrainian citizens.

The war crimes committed by Israel.

Basically, real journalism instead of a unified echo chamber that manufactures the appearance of consensus for the official narrative and bans all other perspectives.

Since you asked for it, anything and everything that doesn't fit the far left, liberal narrative, like the aforementioned covid information, Black on white (as well as Black on Black) crime, facts that don't support the climate scam, etc.

1 of our court justices has Alzheimer's the old one whos name starts with f she doesn't know whats going on half the time and her staffs been covering for her for years, 2000 reports of sexual abuse has been recorded in the Catholic church, how we got prisoners to guantanamo bay and that Ron desantis was a torturer in that place and how trump made millions in office doing bribes for the Saudi's

@DarkLegacy yeah it seems only hate crimes get traction in the news. Especially if it's a white guy criminal b/c its more outrageous and more abnormal. Unfortunately this makes people think it's more common. It is a bad agenda.

Oh yes thats good. In 'normal' news you only ever hear about bad things.
Our local newspaper actually has a daily 'good news of the day' section. It is always a great read to not get overwhelmed by all the negativity going on in the world.

@msmissydc Person gets stabbed. War Crime. A celebrity does a normal life thing and somehow that's news. News makes me sad. I want to see more good deeds, and not big ones. Just normal everyday life things. Let me list a few that will hopefully make your heart melt.

A street performer that, using his guitar, 'narrates' a toddler who's walking towards him, smiling.
Someone paying the debt of their partner and them finding out
Saving an animal on the street and nursing it back to health
police men having a snowball fight with kids
A nurse who's been working with a patient for months and months, finally gets to see that patient walk again.

Yes I totally agree. As I said we do have section like this in our daily local newspaper. It's only one a day but it helps.
Today was about how an animal shelter got help from a school because the teacher decided it was too hot to teach inside and the shelter not far away had a nearly identical problem that outside in the shadow was better for everyone but not enough personal to actually take a lot of the animal outside.
This was possible on a short notice because the school and shelter have a cooperation ongoing.
Tomorrow will be about a new concept that makes it cheaper and more affordable to use the river as a safe swimmingpool alternative.
