Personal choice. I have a friend who's the youngest of 13. I only have one because of health issues when we were younger. Otherwise we wanted 3.

I was the oldest of 2. My brother died when we were kids after being hit by a car. After he died I became very lonely. My parents couldn't have another baby after my brother. I'd have loved a little sister.

I know a woman with 8. I think the dynamic is that when she moves on to a new relationship the guy thinks "She has kids already. I am in for a penny here and might as well be in for a pound. So I will sprog in her and give her another. One of them should be mine."

Maybe they want a big family. If they can afford it I see nothing wrong with it. My cousin wanted three, had twins the first round and wanted to try for a girl got another set of twins; one boy one girl making her total 4 kiddos

Since our societies need a strong younger generation of workers, you could argue they are doing their civic duty.
