This utter nonsense of going after air conditioning falls under the same category as going after daily commuters that choose to drive to and from work, and going after other household appliances. It's all ridiculous virtue signaling smoke and mirrors. One cross-ocean international flight puts as much pollution into the upper atmosphere as one average commuter driving to and from work for an entire year. Don't believe me? Go check out the levels of global atmospheric pollution during the height of the pandemic, when there was just about 0% international flights occurring around the world. They were all at pre-industrial era levels all over the world. Some people might say that there was less cars and trucks on the road during that time also, but that wasn't exactly the case, because millions of bored people bought record numbers of crap from places like Amazon, which means that companies like Amazon had record numbers of delivery trucks on the road (along with making billions of dollars). Also, most of the people not going to work in metropolitan areas during the lockdown were already commuting via mass transit before the pandemic anyway.
When climate change "experts" decide that they want to be serious about climate change and actually do something that's meaningful, like stopping all unnecessary international airline travel, instead of just doing symbolic virtue signaling dumb shit that only spreads paranoia and aggravation, then MAYBE I'll listen. Right now, all the climate activists and Limousine Liberals want to do is stop average people from driving to and from work, stop average people from using air conditioning, and stop average people from using other household appliances, while they continue to fly all over the world on vacations multiple times a year, polluting the upper atmosphere far more than any of us average people. Glass houses. They can all suck a big fat one.
Thanks for Most Superb, GaG algorithm!
I checked your sources, dude. Daniel Rothman of MIT is one of the people warning that global warming is going to cause a mass extinction of life on this planet.
The claim in the picture is misleading, as well. No one disputes that there are natural carbon sinks. The issue is that the carbon cycle balanced itself for thousands of years, and humanity's contribution has caused the cycle to become unbalanced.
Suppose a weigh scale has 5kg on one side and 5kg on the other, and then you add 10% of the weight to one side; does the whole thing tip over? Of course it does.
It only takes a little bit to add a lot of heat to the environment. Zero heat occurs at absolute zero, -273C or -460F. The average global temperature is 14C or 57F. What do you think adding 10% of the degrees between absolute zero and the average global temperature would do to the Earth?
(Yes, I know it's more complicated than that. There are more greenhouse gases than just carbon, and the heat of fusion for water and other liquids and gases on the Earth comes into play.)
The point is, pulling people's scientific research out of context will give you an inaccurate picture of the situation. What matters is that the global average temperature has been going up, and we know that what humans have been pumping into the atmosphere cause an increased greenhouse effect.
I can agree that taking away air conditioning is pointless and does not solve the problem. People need air conditioners to survive under the new warm conditions, air conditioners only consume electricity, and we can generate electricity with renewable resources, so air conditioners are not the problem.
It seems ridiculous to me. Only those from hot climates would manage.

None of this crap the government pushes is about "protecting the Earth." It is entirely about crippling and controlling populations, and demeaning the common man. ACs, gas stoves, meat bans, EVs - all of it is being pushed under a false premise with nonsensical arguments by people with ulterior motives, and changed by people too stupid to ask basic questions.
Governments are well-known for "gold-plating" or "platinum plating" a lot of what they do. What I mean is that they often go well past the point of negative returns. They might get 95% of what the want for 50% of the cost, but they will keep pushing for that 100%. This is whether the expenditures are indirectly by government via taxation or directly saddled upon the people. Politicians don't care because they remain insulated from the actual costs and sacrifices.
There is an equilibrium between carbon in the atmosphere and carbon in various sinks like the oceans and forests. If you add carbon to that the equilibrium shifts.
HMM, I can no longer post links. SO go to wikipedia Carbon_dioxide_in_Earth's_atmosphere then to a graph labeled Concentration of atmospheric CO2 over the last 40,000 year You can see the sudden spike in the last 50 years due to human activity
There we agree. Nanomachines won't help but nuclear and solar will.
In official documents our elites have replaced prioritization of human flourishing with what they call the “ecosystem.” As demonstrated by covid, they are eager to force radical change to conform with their ideology and ideas.
It's not pointless, Jux- it will reinforce that we peons are under the thumb of a bunch of totalitarian control freaks who are themselves under the thumb of the CCP. Heaven forbid we want to be comfortable, right?
It's a new generation of robber barons. They appear every generation and try to eliminate what we refer to today as the Middle Class.
Eventually, the "peasant" class gets fed up and there's a revolution. Usually bloody. And in 800 years the elite haven't won once because they're so hopelessly outnumbered.
And yes, carbon dioxide emissions form so little and are actually essential for continued life on this planet that they should be encouraged, not condemned.
Yes, it would be pointless taking away my AC because I live in a very humid climate area I just heard that the temperatures will be in the middle 80s, and it will feel like 90 degrees it is supposed to come either today or during this week.
I think the whole point is that many people especially here in the US use AC more than they should and a lot of those who use AC are obese. It's the same with heating systems, often people have their heating on full blast in the winter even when they aren't home rather than put on a jumper.
I just had central air conditioning put in my house and got rid of all my window units.. I figured I better do it now in case the moonbats in this nutty state outlaws air conditioning.
Do. you think the elites who make these policies will do without their limos, private jets, yachts, electronics, swimming pools, or AC?
This is all about depopulation and control.
Exactly. WE are the Carbon they want to get rid of.
That's what I've been telling people but they just call me a MAGA extremist conspiracy theorist and storm off.
No, the aim is to depopulate so it works but for the given reason it's bulls**t
Sure. Who’s pushing this? Not libs. If anything we’re for putting more ac’s in poorer neighborhoods.
Now air travel and industrial waste is an issue. I say this after just getting back from a flight…
You mean these stooges for the government that value access journalism rather than real journalism?
Real journalists like Julian Assange get hunted down for execution. YouTube is amazing because it puts the press back in the people's hands instead of corporation's. We are supposed to be the press, not stooges to the government.
And the mainstream media parrots whatever narrative the government wants and they criminally under report things the government does not want you to hear. The mainstream media absolutely cannot be trusted and anything you see on cable news or reading a newspaper is probably a flat-out lie.
The whole idea of global warming is ludicrous.. theyvtell it was not that hot since 1880 so it was hotter then without co2 emissions
And yet yesterday was the hottest day since records began. www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-66104822
"The world's average temperature reached a new high on Monday 3 July, topping 17 degrees Celsius for the first time. "
Take away the elite's AC I say
Well Anthony Claufield had a bounty on my head, but I took em out close range. Candlelight is mighty fine until the wind goes a blowin!
I have no air conditioning. I need no air conditioning.
Guaranteed you don't live in the United States east of the Rockies. It's humid and hot and impossible without AC
@CantMissIt It's true that I live in the grey and windswept British Isles.
