What does the "victim" never get taken seriously?

Is that why does? Everybody claims to be a victim in the victim culture we have and credibility is stretched.

e. g. Girls who wear scanty revealing clothing at a mixed gender gym do so knowing that they going to get gazes from nearly all guys. They might only want the top 10% of guys to look them over but they are advertising in a public place. Scarcely victims.

Sometimes they are. I think it depends on the situation. Sometimes it depends on what the victim is asking for - sympathy and support, or something material that impacts others.
