I think they'd be appalled at how much power the federal government has usurped from the states. No, I do not mean via amendment, which is legit. I mean via things like using the commerce clause, which was designed primarily to keep individual states from erecting tariffs aginst others, in order to regulate things forever that at any time might have crossed a border, and by confiscatorily taxing people and then threatening to withhold returning a part of that to the states if they do not do what the federal government tells them to do. They'd also be appalled at how much legislative power has been ceded to or usurped by the Executive Branch. And a people who rebelled over a small tax on tea would be up in arms over the tax rates that are charged to the people. Probably much more.

Yes, but I bet not for the reasons most people on here will say. They'll talk about "woke" and "CRT" (remember yesterday's outrage?), and ignore the largest story since the civil war, if not the revolutionary war.

After over 200 years and 44 presidents handing over power peacefully, you now have had a president that refused to, and the Senate didn't even vote to convict when he was impeached for it.

197 Republican representatives and 43 Republican senators voted to let him get away with endangering their lives and the constitution with a breathtaking lack of honour the founding fathers would have been disgusted with. He hasn't even been indicted for it yet, and is running again!

I don't know about that, but they'd accept that societies change over time. That's why they wrote a constitution that allowed for change.

I think when they wrote the 2nd amendment, they didn't see semi automatic and automatic weapons being created and used for violence against normal citizens as if they were playing COD: Modern warfare ii for the ps5
