Why men and women are not equal?

In western culture, equality was achieved in the 1970s. Are there sometimes examples were people don't follow the rules? Sure - crime will always exist - but there are already rules and laws and liabilities to address this.

Having said that, men and women are DIFFERENT, and as such, while the vast majority of things ARE truly equal, there are a few areas where our differences mean that our privileges AND our responsibilities are different.

The problem is that women look at those privileges that men have, that women don't, and they want those privileges too - BUT they DON'T want the responsibilities that come with those privileges. That's not how it works, though.

For example, there are lots of women that think that women should have 50% of CEO jobs, and 50% of elected positions - basically, half of all the most desirable jobs, and that this should be legally mandated. And I say "great!" - but if we're going to mandate that, then we must also mandate that women take 50% of the least desirable jobs too. So, ditch-diggers, brick-layers, plumbers, concrete workers, electricians, electrical linemen, coal and other miners, deep-sea divers/welders, oil field workers, deep-sea fishermen, septic tank cleanout, bridge builders, hi-rise builders, and of course, combat infantry. Privileges and responsibilities go together.

Do you think that women are ready to be assigned these jobs, so that other women can have CEO and Senator positions? Or do you think they really just want the privileges and not the responsibilities?

Remember that nothing prevents women from being CEOs or high elected officials - but getting there via merit is HARD (hint: it's hard for men too!) - and most people don't want to work that hard and make the sacrifices necessary to get those jobs. Clearly some women are willing, because we have had lots of female CEOs and elected officials. Meg Whitman at HP, Marissa Meyer at Yahoo, and Mary Barra at GM, for example, and there are female Senators, Congressmen, and Supreme Court Justices.

Maybe you don't live in a place where western culture exists, and in that case, you have a point, but at least in western culture, equality - to the maximum degree that you can reasonably achieve - was attained 50 years ago. Anything more would have to be mandated by law - and that means both men AND women would have LESS choice, not more.

We are equal in that we are all our own people, with our own lives and deserve empathy and to be happy… but we all bring different things to the table and if you want to bring more and become “more” you’re going to have to work your butt off…

But just because there are a bunch of millionaires out there, it doesn’t mean you deserve to be one too. It’s apples to oranges. You deserve a good life, everyone does, but there comes a time when you have to learn that it doesn’t come for free and there are people out there that have found optimal ways of bringing value to the world and thus, they have earned a better quality of life.

Some women bring value simply by standing there, looking pretty, and being a good mother figure. They will get snatched up by a successful man rather quickly. Others have to work, and others have to work on themselves lol. Some a lot harder than others. Men simply don’t have that luxury, no matter how you look at it.

Regardless of your situation, it’s all ultimately a decision you have to make. You have to want it. Are you going to be ‘that’ person, or no? And it’s like, if you aren’t, I wish people would stop crying about it and trying to vote and change society to make things different and more “fair” for them. They’re making things UNFAIR for everyone else that’s out there working hard!

You have to take charge of your own life… you HAVE to…

That's a good question. Men and women should be equal, although men and women are different - in terms of physical size, weight, hormones etc and we need to acknowledge and celebrate those differences. When we talk about equality we are talking about having equal opportunity, access, power and respect - and I believe that's important for all genders :)

We're not the same and are not designed to be equal as in being the same... we'd look retarded if we were. Equality of outcome is also retarded because the only real way that's going to happen is to start forcing women to do things they simply don't want to do.

I think it would be wise if we all just appreciated the differences rather than thinking we in the last 20 years are going to change 20,000 years of evolution.

In life you have positive and negative and you always have people that need to have a title in front of their name to feel important and if somebody says no you can't have that title then there becomes an argument which creates a void and now there's two sides of the fence instead of just saying come on let's go you're on my team and become one it wasn't supposed to be that way it was never meant to be that way but it's what human beings do

Generally speaking we're both men and women have their own advantages and disadvantages. Each pro comes with a con, so it's balanced.

EXAMPLE - MEN
- PRO: Can handle composure and emotions better short-term
- CON: Long-term can't handle it as well and can be very often explosive (suicide, school shootings, etc.)

Women are the opposite of what's said above. Anyway, again these are generalizations and not so black & white of it being the case all the time. I just believe this based on my own experiences, read, and what I've heard.

I think, if you compare both the genders in same parameters, you will find that either of them is superior to the other. But this is narrow thinking if you ask me.

When looking over a broad scale, over multiple parameters, I really think that both the genders are essential to each other and equal.

Now the problem with the world is, people try to compare both genders in the same parameters. Which will of course lead to the feeling of equality for sure.

Under the law men and women are equal, actually I would say women are privileged because they don't have to sign up for the draft to vote, they ⅓ the punishment for the same crimes as men, and they are heavily favored in family court to the point that they will get custody unless they OD in the courtroom.

In relationships we are not equal because every woman wants a man who is taller than her, stronger than her, makes more money the she does, is smarter than her, has higher status than she does, etc. This is not her equal it is her superior and thinking that it should be 50/50 with this guy is absurd. If you a 50/50 equal partnership date a guy on your level with all these things otherwise you will have to submit or he's gone.

We are equal but different. There are many things woman can do that men cannot. And many things men can do that woman cannot. To any man that claims men are superior to women I offer this challenge… let’s see men survive more then 1 generation without women…. We can’t. Tbh this is actually very weird question like how they can be equal... if two things are same in some sense then there is a comparison between them but if two things are entirely different then how this question can be asked... They are different in every aspect!!!
