Americans: Should Both Biden & Trump Drop Out Of The 2024 Us Presidential Race?

Biden definitely should. He has become an extreme liability for the country and his party at this point, so even if they ran on the same garbage policies, at least putting someone up who can string together a coherent sentence and doesn't have so much corruption out in the open would be an improvement. They seem to be desperately floating some names out to see if they stick, but none have been any good or well-received. Their best strategy at this point would be a dark horse candidate who is mostly unknown who can pass for a significant rebranding of the party, and that would come with firing most if not all of the current cabinet staff, among other things that more than likely won't happen.

Trump... if Vivek Ramaswamy could absorb most if not all of his supporters and have a strong shot at taking the nomination, then I'd be more likely to say that he should drop out too. Ron DeSantis I think would be fine on his own, but he's got so many establishment political class actors with their talons in him that I'm convinced he'd be as much of a disappointment as George W Bush (who was an excellent state governor but an awful president), and he's way too brazen with dodging certain major issues regarding foreign affairs. Chris Christie and Mike Pence are both awful alternatives- Christie is a full on RINO, and Pence is too weak. Nikki Haley is purebred lobbyist-bought and paid for, so she's not even worth consideration either.

Ignoring anything else they are both TOO DAMN OLD. Elderly people can have a wide range of medical issues, including mental disability. With politics the way it is, it will be almost impossible to remove either due to disability. Picture someone with paranoid dementia who has the ability to start WW3.

I really want to see a max age limit for the presidency of 65. Its a demanding job and there are situations where immediate action may be required to prevent the loss of millions of lives.

Do you really want someone in their 80s to be woken up in the middle of the night when a dozen missiles have been detected arcing over the pole, and have them decide in the next 10 minutes whether or not to start WW3 and kill a few billion people?

Honestly low key neither really need to go again. I'm not in love with Biden, I'm mostly just ambivalent. But Trump is a hard no for me. I really don't need any more stories in the news about a former US president refusing to return classified documents to the federal government or making racist/sexist/etc comments on behalf of the entire country. Like I'm a democrat but I can live with a republican president, just please pick someone who's less problematic? Like someone that I'm at least comfortable with on a moral level, even if I disagree politically?

I'd like to see a President who's not past retirement age, let alone average life expectancy. It's almost like having a personal stake in the future makes you want to take better care of the world and the people in it.

I'd also like a President who isn't a scumbag, but that's about likely as my figuring out how to transform into a rhinoceros.

I think if they want to run, they should be able to run. I’m not going to be voting for Joe Biden and I’m not going to be voting for Trump in the primaries. I’m going to be voting for DeSantis in the general I will be voting for Trump likely given the polls right now.
