Whether you're left right or center, shouldn't at least the appearance of impropriety be something to consider. As someone who has spent far too much time inside the beltline, "the optics of something" is a matter that I have to consider on everything from how I act at work to who I slap across the face when they come at me sideways to what conversations I have with strangers in public and any number of other things. How do so many people exist in similar fields who do not take that into consideration?

Republicans and democrats run a charade of partisan but in reality they follow the policies of their paymasters. Both do whatever they can to get elected usually with promises they've no intention of enacting but the overall agenda is the same with the same result.

The government like the rest of the nation is hopelessly broken. There is no fixing this. A civil war resulting in millions of deaths will put an end to it maybe but the rational thing is to have a national divorce.

I listened again - he is not entirely wrong, but not altogether correct. I think a sitting President by default gets a lot more deference than a former President, and to some extent that may account for the difference in treatment that Biden got vs. Trump.

Ok, then shouldn't there have been some issues with Hillary then? She wasn't sitting or former, and her handling of classified info was horribly sloppy.

They should be, but they are not. There are so many invisible (to us) forces at work that serve to defeat any sort of parity. Pay-offs, influence-peddling, old debts, threats, deals, payoffs, sex - just a mountain of garbage that makes predicting or expecting equal outcomes hopeless really...

I know this seems unfair and it is, but I think it describes reality as well, sadly...
