Trump is about to incur his third indictment, this time for the Jan 6th riots. Is he getting close to being finished here? Georgia will be next I think.
Anonymous(18-24)+1 yThry just need to stop him running again. The establishment need Biden or establishment republican to ultimately win, doesn't matter which. Trump is a wild card and a loose cannon. In 2019 at a nato conference he openly stated us intentions in Europe in regards to Germany reaming, NATO members paying more for their defence and Germany to buy us oil/gas instead of Russia. The US has a lot invested in Russian defeat in Ukraine and trump can't be allowed to ruin this.

Opinion Owner+1 y@goaded hardly a coup. Coups involve the military not a bunch of drunk hillbillies that get let into the seat of government. For instance when the communists and nazis tried to make coups happen there were was guns and it was violently put down.
- +1 y
It was an attempted coup. Bear in mind that Trump advisors were talking about declaring victory no matter what, even before the election. Trump and his cronies knew he'd lost fair and square back in November, exhausted his legal options soon afterwards, so the only way he could stay president was to have (frankly, traitorous) Republicans in the House vote on a vote per state basis to make him president. To ensure that, one of two things had to happen:
1. Get Pence to pretend that fake slates of electors with forged documents meant that multiple states' results were genuinely in dispute and throw them out.
2. Stop Pence from completing the count on Jan 6th.
Pence refused to do #1, the riot was an attempt at #2 (possibly with help from inside the secret service, taking Pence away "for his own safety", and not returning him; Pence seemed to have thought that was a possibility when he refused to get into the car.) The plan also hoped for counter-protesters (of which there were none) as an excuse to declare martial law.
Opinion Owner+1 y@goaded a coup is an illegal seizure of power by a political faction, politician, rebel group, military, or a dictator.
More like an insurrection which is a violent uprising against an authority or government.
What happened was allowed to happen. The FBI, homeland security & NSA were aware of all social media communications, were infiltrating and tracking these groups. For some reason security was low at the capitol building. Pelosi had refused deployment requests for thd national guard previously outside the capitol building and more importantly the police outside let them in. Remember between the 17 different intelligence agencies, various police departments, national guard etc this should not have been allowed to happen and senators and Congressmen were never in any danger.- +1 y
Uh, yes, "a coup is an illegal seizure of power by a political faction, politician, rebel group, military, or a dictator."
The political faction would be Trump supporters/MAGA Republicans (something like 150 Republican lawmakers were willing to vote against the election with no evidence of fraud), the politician would be Trump, and he has plans to become a dictator by making all currently independent government departments directly answerable to him. www.nytimes.com/.../trump-plans-2025.html
It was illegal because they attempted to stop the legal transfer of power on Jan 6, there was a proven seditious conspiracy to that end. It was illegal because groups of Trump supporters forged official election documents to pretend they were the voters for their states (the thinnest of justifications for Pence to throw out states' results). And they very much appear to have been working together to do that, since multiple states had almost identically worded fake election documents.
It was not an insurrection, they were called there by the president himself, the same night he decided not to have the military illegally sieze voting equipment (also illegal). Nobody would have been in DC on Jan 6 without him.
You're guilty of the crime of conspiracy if you (a) plan a crime with others, and (b) at least one person performs an act to progress that plan. (a) was having the military sieze voting equipment without judicial approval, (b) was drafting the Executive Order for Trump's signature. This lawyer explains it in detail, it's less than 13 minutes.

Opinion Owner+1 y@goaded was power seized? Was there any organisation or desire from this ramble to seize power? It's not ilegal to assemble or protest. Black lives matter do it all the time as does antifa yet there is always sufficient security at the capitol building when they do it
That is all hearsay and conjecture.- +1 y
Rubbish. "Was power siezed?" No, it was an ATTEMPTED coup. That's still illegal.
"Was there any organisation or desire from this ramble to seize power?"
Yes, about a dozen people have been convicted of seditious conspiracy so far, and the whole point of "stop the steal" was to prevent the transfer of power to Biden.
Opinion Owner+1 y@goaded attempted by who? Q-anon nutjobs lol
This was America's mental health & opioid crisis exploding once again not an organised coup.- +1 y
So, nobody was there because they'd been told the election had been stolen (it wasn't), and they just happened to turn up on the day Trump told them to be there and turn to violence because of mass insanity?
Of course it was organised; they wouldn't have been there otherwise, there wouldn't have been people with forged documents pretending that they were the real electoral voters for many (7?) states, and the president wouldn't have been pressuring Pence to steal the election for him.
Opinion Owner+1 y@goaded doesn't matter it was no more a coup than when mass protests erupted after trump won in 2016 by those very liberals who didn't bother to even vote.
Opinion Owner+1 y@goaded would anyone have taken to the streets after trump won if politicians and celebrities weren't calling for a coup and Marshall law? What if those protestors had been let into the capitol building?

@richardcory I can't say what the final charges will be, IANAL, but I just posted a quick precis of how it was supposed to work:
Trump and his cronies knew he'd lost fair and square back in November, exhausted his legal options soon afterwards, so the only way he could stay president was to have traitorous Republicans the House vote on a vote per state basis to make him president. It's possible that these details didn't all come out for a year, but the probability that Trump was involved has always been extremely high.

He has done things in public that are grossly illegal and that he didn't try to hide. I don't know what he's done behind the
scenes but apparently somebody knows because he's in trouble for some of that stuff too or so it would seem. However, I think the public stuff if he is convicted of it is enough to send him to prison. - +1 y
Well... I guess I'm just wondering if there's some piece of information that we don't have. Because we say that he's done these things are grossly illegal things in public, but then nothing has ever stuck in the the court system, or even before congress. And we can only write that off as him being mega rich to certain point because... well... even rich people, especially rich people who are as hated as Trump, are subject to the will of the crowd.
- +1 y
@msc545. Can you name one illegal thing that he has done? Just one thing? And do not say that 30 some odd allegation from that crazy woman that said Trump raped her in a busy New York department store? There was zero evidence and zero witnesses. The crazy woman did not even know exactly what year it was. I think she has the same psychiatrist as that crazy Ford woman that said Justice Cavanaugh raped her.

Sure. He encouraged the January 6th riots at the capital, and he badgered and threatened voting officials in Georgia in an attempt to overthrow the legal and valid election of 2020. He also retained government documents that were secret in nature at his house in Florida illegally. So that's three things so far. There will be more.
- +1 y
He encouraged the riots bu telling people to March "Peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol"? That's a pretty funny way to start a riot. Besides, wasn't Trump the one that suggested maybe there should be more security because he knew a million people would show up but Pelosi refused,? Why would somebody who wanted to start a riot want the Naional Guard to be there, He did not badger anyone for votes. The conversation was taken out of context. When the court hears it in its entirety it will be shown there was nothing there. According to the Presidential Records Act the President gas sole discretion over what is secret ans what is not. He was not doing anything illegal by keeping them at his residence. These charges and all the ones that will come after are all manufactured to rig the election. I think the Big Guy has a better chance of being sent to the Big House.

@exitseven Can y'all do this in a private message or something? I'm not trying to political debates like this in my comments section.

@msc. When Trump was in office there were no children because his policies kept the vast majority from even attempting to come here. That was the objective and it worked great. We had the most secure border in decades. Biden actively told everybody to come to America. He said nobody would be turned away. His objective was to bring in as many as possible and get them registered to vote. A new administration will regard this as a treasonous act.

The last quarter he raised 35 million dollars with the average donation less than 35 bucks. A good number coming from first time donors. I have to wonder how many times the democrats will indict him before they figure this out, I'm saying 6 times.

I never heard of the site you are talking about but I never heard of GaG either.

@msc545. None of these so called charges will stick. They have been manufactured to influence the election. Democrats know thay have nothing to run on but 4 years of the biggest disaster in American history. If Trump gets re-elected he promises tat he will hire a real special prosecutor who will have no issue with investigating the Bidens and all their co- conspirators. It will be orange jumpsuits all around.

@Sheila1995 Fox has been taken over by Rupert Mudoch's son whi is a Democrat. He is dismantling Fox News and silencing it one voice at a time. They had ratings more than all other news outlets put together. That is a big voice and one that would be dangerous to democrats. A lot of people would find out the truth about Jan 6th, covid, Hunters laptop , Bidens payoffs and many other scandals that have been blacked out on most other channels if Fix was allowed to continue. Getting rid of Tucker, Dan Bongino and I heard that Maria is next will result in much lower ratings but they seem to be willing to pay the price

@Sheila1995 The nation must divide into two countries. Not just for sanity sake but it will be a great social experiment. We will have a country with law and order good education, accountability, justice and adherebce to the constitution. Then another one based on equity, affirmative action, governmentguvaway programs, CRT based schools and no cash bail
It will be interestingto see how it looks in ten years , - +1 y
@msc545. Trump will not be in the Big House. He will be in the White House. This will be the biggest comeback in US history. Trumps poll numbers have never been higher and Biden has never looked more pathetic. The information that came out about him hmthis week is just thectip of the iceberg. Once the House Oversight Committee gets some of the bank records from the shell corporations the Bidens used to launder the money they won't be able to keep it quiet. Biden will not get get indicted by his own DOJ but the voters will see what they will be voting for. Not like the last election
- +1 y
Exit I think you believe that if you just say things they will come true. Like, if you say Trump will win or Trump will be in the White House or whatever it is you say about Trump that will magically make all of it come true. I'm sorry to tell you this but it won't. Repeating very unlikely things or unlikely outcomes just makes you sound. Kind of well makes you sound like somebody who has at least temporarily suspended his critical thinking.

@msc545 That is what people said in 2016. Trump was behind by 10 points but i just looked around and even in this crazy moonbat state there was Trump signs on lawns and bumper stickers. There was a Trump boat parade that had thousands of boats. Trump did not take the state but all the suburban towns were Trump supporters. The urban welfare voters outnumbered us.
Trump is not ten point behind. he is ahead in almost every poll. Even the NBC poll. He is more popular than ever. Meanwhile more and more evidence is coming out about the Big Guy. Maybe there will be no indictments because he runs the DOJ but there are enough news outlets and Twitter that won't suppress any of this.
Bisided Joe Biden's mental problems re getting worse by the day. He will never be able to run a campaign. He cannot debate, he cannot even answer a question without a teleprompter. I know the democrats have already said that he will not debate and will send surrogates to campaign for him but do tyou really think people will be fooled by this or will vote for somebody who has to be take by the hand and led off the stage or else he will trip and fall. . They are probably afraid he will break a hip.,
Americans realize that Trump is being indicted on really thin cases that would be dismissed on their merit if it was not Biden's political adversary. Wit hevery indictment his poll numbers just go up. Hr is also putting in place his own ballot harvesting operations and take advantage of the laxities in the voter laws in some districts. . - +1 y
Thats what they said in 2016. He will get more votes than 2020. He just raised 35 million dollars and the average donation is less than 35 dollars. A lot were from new donors. President Trump is winning suburban women and more black people are voting for him than ever before. Biden has to rely on big donors like George Soros to contribute to his campaign.
It must be terrible for Trump to still be living rent-free in people's heads. I mean I understand why the cabal is pushing the bs. They're agenda is to try and keep him out of office again. I don't think there has ever been a time in American history that a president was hated so much. And for what? Because Hillary didn't win? 8 years of Obama was more than enough. Things were going good while trump was in office. Yet they couldn't just let him do his 8 years. Never before has there been such a massive population psychosis or hypnosis.

@Lliam They actually impeached him a second time after he lost power, which is a totally pointless act and one that used to be avoided due to the potential to rip the country apart. I think lawfare on the part of the DoJ is here to stay. Banana republic stuff, but why not? Give dedollarization five to ten more years and we’ll have a banana republic economy too.
