They would protect you, but only if you engage in black magic. That is actual conjuring of demons, and approaching them via blood sacrifices. I've seen a boy who was merely 17 years old, who had a group of 6 individuals surrounding him, wielding bats and all attempting to strike him with it... and they all get shoved on the ground, knocked out flat! And he's all crouching on the ground, Until a man of religion arrived at the scene and approached the boy, he spat on the boy's face, and the boy was terribly shocked. How could that man approach him like that, spit on him, and the demons protecting the boy didn't do anything? The man then proceeds to spit on the boy, multiple times 'reciting holy verses', till the boy decides to escape the scene, running. What appears is the demons over watching him fleed the scene on the sighting of the religious man.
This all happened in an arabian third world country. And ultimately any sort of black magic conjuring is rewarded with eternity in hell. They might be able to protect you in this world, but these are only short years. Hell is eternal, and they can't protect you from God for no one can.
